Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort

Rooms were clean and well maintained, though the walls are thin enough that noise travels, we heard neighbors clearly on separate occasions, so the wrong room next door could definitely affect a stay. We had two rooms across from each other, each with a partial beach view, which was a nice touch. Some outdoor fixtures, including a few beach chairs, were rusted from the salt air. Understandable for a tropical climate, but noticeable. My main gripe was the fees. Parking is $45/day with no self-parking or street option (maybe Bonvoy members could get a reduced rate or a free night there?) Add a daily resort fee on an already pricey room, and it felt like nickel-and-diming rather than a fair pass-through of costs. Lobby market prices were steep too ($7 for a bottle of water). And automatically adding gratuity, then still leaving a line for an additional tip, is irritating; either build it into the price or let guests decide. One heads-up: if you're there over a weekend, be aware they open the resort to the public, and the pool area turns into a pretty loud club scene. Not ideal for families with kids. None of this was a surprise going in, and overall, we loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we're back in Pompano Beach. I'll just bring my own water. ;)

While almost everything was amazing and enjoyable, they charged me a daily valet fee. After confirming I had no vehicle and that if there is no vehicle on property, you are not charged the fee. I have been contacting them for a month now and still have yet to receive my refund.

We had a lovely stay overall. The room was very clean, and we especially enjoyed the pool area. Isaac was great at check in and supportive. Sheila, the pool attendant, was truly wonderful. She was kind and caring throughout our stay, and we enjoyed talking with her each day. When our son got hurt, she immediately came over to check on him and get him ice, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, our 2nd night was a very different experience. Around 2 a.m., the electricity went out in our room and remained out for approximately 6-8 hours. We called the front desk twice, but it did not seem like the issue was fully understood. My husband eventually went down to the lobby to speak with the front desk around 5:30 a.m. and again around 7am. The electrician finally arrived around 9 a.m. and fixed the problem. All he did was press a reset button. What was most disappointing, however, was that after such a significant disruption to our night and morning, we never received an apology or any acknowledgment from management. Even during the issue no one acknowledged us. We truly enjoyed many aspects of our stay and appreciated the wonderful staff members. However, the extended loss of electricity and the lack of communication or follow-up from management definitely affected our experience. We hope the hotel takes situations like this seriously and considers how it can better communicate with and take care of guests when unexpected issues occur.

Great experience

The hotel is very nice . But there are some things that could be better . There’s no clock in the room , & there’s no microwave . Additional I think the alcoholic beverages should be cheaper since you’re already paying a resort fee . The pool is really nice though !

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was absolutely amazing! We are coming from out of state so it was nice that everything you’d need for the beach is included in your stay. The pool was beautiful, had wonderful pool staff, and was peaceful. The beach was the beach- awesome! The room was beautiful and I’m pretty sure all rooms from front and sides had a perfect ocean front view as the rooms are slanted out so you aren’t just looking at the building next door. The resturant is underrated. We went for 2 dinners, 1 breakfast, and 1 lunch and when I tell you each visit topped the one before- I couldn’t recommend it enough and you don’t even have to leave the hotel. Honestly this stay exceeding my expectations in so many ways. We will certainly be coming back, and we rarely ever revisit the same location/hotel. Thank you Marriott!

Wonderful resort! Our room was large, spacious, and had amazing views of the ocean. The staff was nice, and very helpful. Unfortunately, there was SO much seaweed that we were not able to get into the ocean. Thankfully the pool area was amazing! Would go back again:)

The hotel room, beach and pool was nice. Hotel only has valet parking so $45/day plus tips every time you need your car. Food and beverages were overpriced. Paid for a continental breakfast but the hotel is staffed to treat you like you’re in a restaurant so we had to tip the waiter 20% for bringing coffee which is ridiculous. Everything at this hotel is expensive. Expect to pay a lot in tips.

Had a bad experience.

I booked ocean view and got partial, toilet ran all the time and we had to fix. Shower faucet broken and hard to use. Very expensive for what you get. Not going back

Clean rooms and very nice staff. Would book again when it is cooler in FL.

The atmosphere was lovely however the rooms are very small for what you pay for. No hot water after 3am.

The hotel/room was clean. The things I wasn’t happy about the stay was the price of food at The Kester. The breakfast buffet was $42 each. There’s no way anyone can eat that much for the price you pay. It’s not like it was anything special. As good as anywhere else for a short walk you can go to Tiki Bar at the Lighthouse Cove Resort like a minute walk away. The pool side food was good for appetizers. We got room service one night and it was like $70+ for a plate of spaghetti with grilled chicken and a Caesar salad and it came in a cardboard box. They couldn’t even deliver it in a plate with a cover like they do down at the pool. We got Pepsi from room service too and they come already in a cup with ice and it was already flat.

Everything was perfect will definitely stay again
