The nice clean non smelly room N/a

Actually, NOTHING! The owner. He was rude and very unprofessional. I went to the desk after check in and requested a box of facial tissue. He refused, saying “Red Roof doesn’t require them.” He gave me the third degree when checking in when he asked if we had any pets. I told him yes, we had our dog traveling with us. Then he told us we should have disclosed that when making the reservation. He probably would have given us a lesser quality room, as if there was one. Our dog is probably cleaner than most of the people staying at this hovel. We will never stay here again, even though we travel back and forth to Florida frequently. The towels are the size of a postage stamp and poor quality. There were several repairs to the aging room, door hardware, bathroom vanity, etc. the place was a dump. Sorry, but it is true.

I don’t recall now. It was sufficient for the night. I believe the soap dispenser was empty and my husband had to call it in. And they refilled it.

The bathroom smelled like urine and the parking lot was full of trash.

Our room was clean and updated. The air conditioning/heater never stopped running but that turned out to be a good thing considering the traffic from the gas station next door for trucks. I would stay here again for a night for a place to sleep.

The question was how my check in was. No problems or surprises. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Heating provided a thermostatic controlled comfortable stay. The room lacked facial tissues

The person at the front desk was very friendly. But it was odd that he kept asking if he had pets with us. We had no pets with us. It was just myself and my teenage son. I also found it odd that he did not want to register my car License plate number to the room for the records. Any hotel or Motel I've stayed at always requires that for safety and security reasons. There needs to be a better job done by the house keeping staff, or persons in charge of cleaning the rooms and the parking lot. It the room there was a bad smell of mold. The floor boards were lifting and felt spongey when you stepped on them. (Front window area by ac /heating unit.) The wall where the heads of the beds meet had lots of holes on it. Most puddy over but not painted to conceal the damage. There was a thick coating of dust and webs on all the light bulbs in lamps and lighting. (When turn lights on the dust created a burning smell) The surface area had dust and the tops of the blow dryer and Iron as well. The drinking cups in plastic also had a coating of dust on them. The tv was covered in finger prints. (Dirty screen) The bathroom was clean but sadly in poor repair. I was impressed to see a modern low flow toilet installed. The bathroom being windowless was painted a dark color. You could see water or piss stains on the wall in front of the toilet. The seal around the tub/shower and floor edging look like a 5 year old did it slopy job sealing it with his fingers. Then try to paint over it with a water color brush. The shower insert was crack along the wall seam right above the tub. (Might be mold behind it.) The linings and the bedding were clean and had a pleasant smell to them. The Parking lot had a lot of cigarettes butts and animal droppings. (Dog or Wild life?) But no trash issues that I could see. In closing I want you to know I wrote this in great detail to help you better your location. Even with what I wrote about in this letter. I would still come back and stay again. I hope you all have a safe and good Summer. Joseph E Hover 540-336-8718
