Portobello Park Hotel

The kids facilities were great!!! Also the gym was very good The breakfast was not so great, I felt like cattle, in one way out the other and do so as quick as possible. Also had cockroaches in our room, but the staff resolved this, but should have never happened in the first place. Had food one time in the hotel and it was terrible, very greasy full of fat. Internet kept dropping all the time, once I tried to resolve it with staff I got told it’s like this here, drops all the time.

Mold everywhere in the rooms... In the grout of the bathroom tile, doorframes, silicone around the shower sliding door, mold in the spot lights in the bathroom, mold above the closet area, mold on the ceiling, and mold on the furniture. Hotel staff didn't seem to think that was an issue and we weren't offered to change rooms, as they all 'had similar' problems. The beds were old, uncomfortable, didn't have fitted sheets, and two twin beds pushed together to make a 'king bed'. The bathroom smelled of sewer fumes. The air conditioning in our room stopped working correctly and we couldn't adjust the temperature. The remote for the unit still worked, but the unit was unresponsive to the remote! We had to unplug the unit to turn the AC on and off. No maintenance on the unit was performed by the staff from our knowledge, even after I mentioned it to the front desk. The rooms across from us and down the hall were under construction and there was constant banging of the doors, since the windows were removed, and the workers left the doors wide open. We complained several times to hotel staff, and ended up having to close the doors to the rooms ourselves, on more than one occasion. As Portuguese isn't my first language, although I live in Brazil, at times I ask people to repeat things because I didn't understand them. When asking staff to repeat themselves, they appeared annoyed and looked at me like I had two heads, even after explaining that Portuguese is my third language. I have lived in Brazil for 4 years, and I have never felt so unwelcome in a place before. The overall impression the staff gave off was negative, uncaring, and unhelpful. This was my second time in Porto Seguro, (6th time in Bahia) which is a lovely place to visit, but this hotel IS NOT worth staying at.

Breakfast really good and excellent location. Amazing staff: my mother had a little health problem and I received the best help from staff of every single sector. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Nothing!!! Loved everything at Portobello Park Hotel !!!

hotel staff is super friendly! the hotel lacks maintenance. it feels like it’s totally abandoned. As if things got broken and were never fixed again. Also, their diesel generator was running next to my room from Monday to Friday 6pm till 9pm. it was really loud.
