Black Angus Motel Poteau

Old and dated. Very uncomfortable bed. Lights not working. AC did not cool room very well. Bath tub would not drain properly.

Simple room for a simple price. A bit old but did the job just fine.

I liked staying here

Did not stay they wanted to charge for my dogs and site says free for pets. The did agree to not charge for the room.

DONT DO IT!!!! JUST DONT EVEN BOTHER!! Unless you wanna score then yea go ahead and stay here!! Lets see let me give a little back story, my husband and good friend my son and i went for a 4 day weekend, we booked 2 rooms. First nigtht fine. Day 2 we are gone most of the day, come back to find our buddys room door open, now nothing was missing (he took his money and everything important with us) and the door turned out to be messed up and possibly got pushed open by accident. Or could of been left open by housekeeping staff (who by the way is a 17 year resident drunk old man) umm lets see day 3 met a very nice police officer who happened to be staked out infront of our room attempting to catch a dr*g deal go down from the room all the way at the end, gone most of the day again. Come back get woke up at 6am to a female all meth'd up begging for a ride because her "boyfriend" aka the dr*g dealer at the end room just threw her out and about beat her a$$!!! So yea i will NEVER stay here again!!!! The other rooms near by was all booked because we didnt know a bike ralley was going on this weekend. Hope this helps save someone a headache 🙃

Old but clean

Older building that needs some attention.

No Breakfast No Coffee Maker in room Bed was comfortable, but room far away from front for no apparent reason. Ok for value Motel, but don't expect much.

It was dirty

The check-in was out of the ordinary. I had to stand outside - in the heat while the process is going on. The room itself was decent. The bath towels were very small. There were no hand towels in the facility. I was told the motel stopped using hand towels all together. For the price, it was way below standards.

Considering I made a late reservation to stay in Poteau for the eclipse, I was happy to get the room, even though it was a smoming.

This place has crazy bad reviews for no reason, the front desk and housekeeper were super sweet. There was a cop parked the whole week I stayed and the sheriffs office of the whole county is located there in poteau not too far away either so it is a cop town in general they’ll be everywhere, I felt safe the whole time I stayed and I love that you can park directly in front of your room door. Super cute retro vibes I felt like I was staying at my grandpas house. I actually checked out and came back twice because my job kept getting delayed there and I would totally come stay again if I ever come back for work! But overall the price for the room is amazing compared to the other more expensive places I stayed at previously in the area which I did not have good experiences at.

Room looked clean however the tub floor had stickers and were molded the carpet floors were very sticky. All we did was sleep there a few hours. Beds was not comfortable at all.

We realized that it would be hard to find something last minute for this area. It was really all there was without paying twice the price or driving another 25 miles. When we pulled up there was no ‘check-in’ lobby. We had to ring a doorbell for service and passed info and key thru a slot under the window. We wondered if it was a really bad area of town or the drug haven. It was old but somewhat clean except the front windows. The curtains were in need of repair and the door was hard to open and close. The door frame was rusty. Vending machines had one brand of off brand pop that was out of date. There were no hand towels. Vanity and sink were very low…….like thigh height. The beds were cheap but surprisingly I didn’t wake up with a backache. Refrigerator and microwave were old and the frig froze my drink. Limited tv. No coffee!

I left and checked in elsewhere.

The management is very helpful. The location is in the mix of everything.
