Hotel Costamar

Not close to the beach at all. The ocean is at the bottom of a cliff that a landslide took out the path. Hot water for shower only near the pool area, not in your room. Cold shower only but since it's hot there, the water isn't that cold either!

Good value for the money and air conditioning was sufficient enough for me to get a good night sleep. It was also quiet enough at night for me to sleep very well and not any noise at all from the other guests. It was centrally located in the city center., I think it’s a good value for the price and perfect to stay one or two nights I prefer sheets made of cotton rather than synthetic materials. Otherwise, the room is a bit small but perfect for one person who just needs a quick place to stay not far from the airport and close to businesses

I liked that the room was comfortable and simple The shower. There was not hot water in the shower of the room and because it doesn’t have a shower curtain, the toilet gets all wet.

The staff is very attentive We didn't stay. The advertised prices of over 2000 mxn per night doesn't match with what should be expected for this pricel. The AC didn't work, there was no hot water in our room, poor Internet and no pool.

The A/C really cooled the room that was a plus because it was really hot outside / Another nice thing was the pool it was always warm It was a bit far from main beaches such as Bahia Principal and Zicatela , they also didn’t allow us to enter with beverage when we had already purchase it , we had to leave it in front desk and pick it up next day and drink our beverages outside ?? they also charged us at the end because the towel apparently was not washable ..

The pool was a nice surprise

Very good air conditioning, quickly cooled the room from 30+° Staff were helpful. Comfortable beds. The steep metal staircase to access the level of our room. No lift.

Nothing other than the front desk receptionist. Everything was horrible. We could not fit in our room with the luggage. We were not able to eat in our room and the bed was small it barely fit in the room. Bathroom was disgusting. This was more like a hostel not a hotel. I want a refund for 30 days we were not there.

The hotel is in a good spot if you want to be in the centre, plenty of places to eat around, lots of shops too, I hired a scooter during my stay as there’s lots to see in Puerto Escondido so no matter which part you stay, it would probably be beneficial to have one. The hotel is basic but very clean and they also clean your room everyday if you wish, air con is great as it’s very humid, the pool is nice and clean, the staff are great, very friendly and although they speak little English, I speak little Spanish and we made it work with Google translate. The only reason I didn’t give top marks is due to the noise travel through the place, I am a very light sleeper, there’s a cockerel nearby, barking dogs, mechanic garage and I could hear everything.

The room was exactly like the photo, our night here was great! I didn’t notice earlier, but the hotel turned out to have a swimming pool - you can take a dip in the heat during the day after a shower - and there is also a children’s pool. Unfortunately, a group of people in the hotel lobby continued their animated conversation after 00 am and I was able to sleep only when they finally went to their rooms closer to 2 am

The true gem of Hotel Costamar are the people who work there. They are beyond kind and helpful - be it when it comes to providing information and organizational assistance... or even first aid! After a minor mishap near the hotel, Luz of Costamar was there for us - helping us clean and dress the wound and checking in on how it was healing. Another great plus in the scorching heat was the AC - it was a true lifesaver and made our stay super comfortable. Playa Carrizalillo (25-30 mins on foot) is wonderful and I wholeheartedly recommend you don't miss it.

Great stay before going to the airport in the morning

My payment did not go thru Booking.com and they only accept cash. It was a long walk to the nearest ATM. No AC. No amenities sch as bottled water. Lots of stairs (no elevator) Lack of secure locks on door.

Owners are calm and sweet people, location is quiet and safe. Everything impeccably clean and well-managed.
