    Rooms are very dusty had to take allergy meds due to sneezing so much in the room and the AC stunk like rotten eggs, the bathroom shower was really gross as well. Our room wasn’t ready even though we showed up an hour after check in and after a long drive and hoping to settle in that’s frustrating. We were given breakfast vouchers due to the inconvenience but the breakfast was just okay, wouldn’t have eaten there if we had to pay for it. Probably wouldn’t return here any time soon, we stayed for 2 nights and it was almost $500, not including valet that was another $94 pretty over priced for the lack of cleanliness and amenities. And not to mention paying for valet $40 a night just to park it right in front, and when none of them could even retrieve my car at check out cause no one could drive a manual. Not sure why I had to pay to park and retrieve my own car. We love Richmond and visit often, but it’s been hard to find a decent hotel that’s clean and doesn’t cost an arm and leg when literally NOTHING is included.

    Everything about our stay was pleasant except for the maintenance of the bathroom fixtures, which were clearly damaged before our arrival. This is something the staff should already have been aware of, given that the bathroom should have been cleaned before our stay.

    Although our stay was pleasant, we were disappointed to learn upon checking in at 5 PM that the room type we had booked several months in advance (a king suite) was no longer available.

    Front desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff were so engaging and welcoming. Loved the food at the bar and the pool area, however, the pool water was freezing! Other than the pool temp, everything was perfect and we will be back!

    Cons: Poor Services (no extra bedding for the sofa bed - my elderly mom was cold while sleeping during the first night; the safe is locked - not operational) Poor Maintenance (the bathroom had no proper ventilation; the bathroom door is jammed with extreme loud noise when opening it each time; water station is not operational in the gym) Poor Housekeeping (the duvet was soiled; there were fruit flys around the garbage cans in front of 6 floor elevated doors

    No handicap parking unless you paid $46 a night and that was for valet. The AC is substandard. It is motion detected but takes forever to cool down after you reenter the room. The shower curtain was stained and the door was hard to close.

    When we arrived, the room was clearly not cleaned properly. There were food crumbs and snacks all over the carpet, dog paw prints on the chair, and coffee stains on the wall. These are things that should have been noticed and cleaned before a guest checks in. I texted the hotel staff and requested housekeeping. I was told someone would come to the room at 7:30 PM. I even removed the privacy sign from the door to make sure they could enter, but nobody ever showed up. The only positive part of this hotel was the valet parking staff, who were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The room was not clean, the service was unreliable, and the overall experience was far below what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. I honestly don’t understand how this hotel maintains a 4-star rating. I would not choose to stay here again. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5)

    Terrible hotel and terrible staff. I was visiting a family member at VCU who was in ICU. I contacted the hotel through hotels.com to let them know I wasn’t going to make it that night and when I arrived in the AM they had cancelled my booking for both nights and wouldn’t let me check in even for the 2nd night even though I had reached out to them. Thanks goodness I booked through hotels.com who were able to grant me one key points to cover another stay despite what the hotel did. Wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone but a big thanks to hotels.com

    The valet was rude; upon my arrival, they said I couldn’t unload my luggage or being at the hotel entrance unless I paid them. I had to ask for assistance at the front desk. The property doesn’t have self parking
