I had an amazing stay at Che Lagarto Copacabana! The hostel has a great vibe clean, comfortable, and perfectly located close to the beach, shops, and everything you need in Rio. It’s the kind of place where it’s easy to meet people and feel at home right away. What really made my experience unforgettable was the staff. A huge thank you to Guilherme, Duda, Paola, Moura, and Gabi you all went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Whether it was helping with recommendations, organizing activities, or just bringing great energy every day, you truly made a difference. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Rio. I’ll definitely be back!

location structure airco o wa broken above my head. didnt get a new bed even thouh there was space. absolutely evil staff smile in your face then ruin your stay and dont give a shit

The atmosphere, the staff and the guests are really nice. Good service and always trying to help I was with 12 person in the room, the ac stopped working one night so they offered free breakfast

The room has 0 lighting. The loud noises at night are annoying and the guests are not respectful, but you can imagine that in advance. I guess that's what Rio is like.

Breakfast and staff are awesome! The only complaint is about the beds (mattress are extremely thin and there are no bedside sockets, which is really inconvenient)

Good location, nice people. The air con was terrible. In fact I don’t think it was an air con, just a fan bringing in warm air from outside and the dorm room was boiling all night so didn’t really sleep.

Two people from the reception. It was close to the beach. Paid for 8 days, but stayed only 4. I was really afraid there. I didn’t feel safe. The whole building is old, dark, ugly, and uncomfortable. Some nights I was the only woman in a mixed room and one of the men was hitting on me. I was scared as a solo traveler and had a backache from the terrible mattress. Also no privacy in the mixed bathroom. The night porter was rude to me and the cleaners were angry and complained about how disgusting some guests were. I ran away as soon as I could, even loosing money.

surly staff at the desk. Check in took an eternity. Add the app to check in. i had to go up and down the stairs 5 time to get into the right room. Key cards didnt work.

Good location and close to the beach. Has kitchen and meeting area. The bed was not very comfortable. Rooms are a bit cramped if you have luggage. The common area is very hot all day and could use air conditioning.
