Breakfast was ok. The Hotel is advertised as a modern hotel but actually it is an old hotel with very loud A/C which barely functions. The elevator had a scary sound on the evening but maintained in the morning. The bed sheets and blankets were not clean. As we couldn't sleep the previous night , we asked the hotel to change us rooms and they offered us two separate rooms but both rooms have the same problem i.e loud and barely functioning A/C. Hence we decided to terminate our stay and asked for refund of the unused one day charge but the hotel refused. We eventually left without the refund as we couldn't afford another sleepless night.

On May 22nd in the evening I asked to borrow a cup from the kitchen. The hotel reception lady was not so friendly and she denied to give me a simple cup... She said that kitchen is not allowed to give caps to guests. However this was no true. Later I asked kitchen staff for a cup and they gave it to me with no problem.

Location and price

The breakfast was appropriate and the location was close to the centre and to metro station Unfortunately after a long day doing tours i realised late at night that the toilet water flowing system did not work and i did not bother mentioning. After all that is something that should be checked unless i was positioned in a random room as it was a four bed room and i had booked a single one. Honestly i did not go out after sunrise but the neighbour looked somewhat abandoned and quite dirty and i do not think i would trust myself going out for a walk after dark. Some of the reception staff managed with english but i was given the impression that it is mostly prefered by either locals or those speaking the language.

Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Courtains needed to be just a little wider to block morning light.

Exceptional

The location is very close to Lapa and surroundings. The A/C wasn't working properly so I had to get the remote control from the front desk everytime I went into the room.

Very professional Sometimes the rooms are too dirty

The view and and the size of the room and bathroom where great. The room service was a surprise, very very good and less expensive than any other option around. The breakfast was very good. The cleaning about everything. Bathroom was not very clean, the bed clothes was very used and seems dirty. When we go for breakfast the tables are not clean. I have to clean everything for my family. It was dirty very dirty. I clean with alcohol gel and napkins.

The location is very convenient for accessing the tourist hotspots. We found the hotel to be well priced for the location. The rooms are nice and big with beautiful views on the upper floors. The bathroom was nice and big. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. If you are staying on a budget, this is a good option. If you can afford an extra $70 a night, you will be more comfortable. The location feels dangerous, especially at night. We didn't feel safe walking outside after dark. The cleanliness of the bedding, towels, and common areas was lacking. We found some harmless bugs in our bed, they did not bite. The breakfast was not great.

Bad communication, the WC overflowed into the bathroom wonder what kind of design was that ! It’s more of a bread and breakfast than a hotel . No apologies from the reception about the in convenience … I checked out early and informed the reception the previous evening. They said no dues .. early morning they literally ran after me to the taxi and asked me to settle the’ water ‘ bill !! They ‘verbally’ booked a tour for me for a day after. I asked them for the receipt. They said you will pay to the bus tour conductor. I had a serious doubt seeing their way they were communicating. So next day morning , I double checked at the reception if the booking was confirmed.. He checked with the tour operator and informed that there was no booking !!

Absolutely Nothing Unkept, old, dirty, dark, unsafe, staff did not understand English but one staffer which was amazing.

Very good location, near the metro station and a lot of places for food. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Patricia at the reception speaks very good English and helped a lot by booking tours, The breakfast is very good with a lot of options. Furthermore, we had a late travel time and the hotel was so helpful that they gave the option for late check out without any additional payment. I will go back for sure.

Great location and view, nice breakfast most things are tasty, some, salty. Nice shower, clean. Great location, near Selaron Stairs and Saint Sebastian cathedral. The location, it's full of beggars and smells a lot to urine in the surroundings, but this is something I noticed in several places in RJ
