Our room had a large, very comfortable bed and wonderfully dark curtains that made for great sleep. The view from our window was an inner court, but we hadn’t booked a room with a view so that’s fair enough. The location of the hotel was excellent, with the Copacabana one crosswalk away. The general staff deserve a real shout-out! The doormen were lovely, even when we arrived around 6am, reception speaks good English and were helpful (they even let us use a computer to sort something out). Breakfast itself is extensive and fresh, with a great view from the lounge. The team clearly works hard, they toast the bread for you (great for anyone gluten intolerant, and it keeps things hygienic). They top up the food and the fresh orange juice machine constantly so nothing runs out. A few small things kept the stay from being perfect. The room had a musty smell that meant we had to air it out regularly, the floor was dirty and had crumbs or sand on arrival, and there were a couple of stains on the sheets (though they were clean/washed). Only one side of the bed had a bedside table, which was a slight annoyance when for example charging a phone overnight. The breakfast staff doesn't speak English and tends to keep speaking Portuguese even after we explained (in Portuguese) that we didn’t understand them, which felt a bit awkward, and was less than ideal, for example on a morning when the coffee machine was broken. However, the main downside about the breakfast is that it gets very, very busy any time after 8AM. There were long lines and we sometimes had to wait for a free table. A few nice-to-haves would round it out. For instance a bit more bread variety (proper fresh croissants!) rather than just sweet desserts, lactose-free or oat milk alongside regular milk, salt for the eggs, and some bottled or filtered water available. Practical tip for hotel management: badges for staff to wear displaying a flag of the language(s) that they speak :)

The staff charged me for the minibar even though I did not consume anything from it.

Air conditioning was noisy but overall experience was great

Location, friendly staff, Ivan front desk very helpful ?? nothing

Property is a little bit old and could use some renovations to replace older, worn out carpets. Otherwise, it was fine.

- Location - Room did not have bar fridge, but included a time machine, to go back to the 70's. - Shower dreadful. Door leaks, showerhead is terrible - Not a single TV channel in english. - Bed is terrible, bedding smells. - The room smells of copious amounts of Air Freshener.

the hotel is under good maintenance but if they do a complete make up, that will be awesome, location is infront of the beach of copacaban, so its perfect

It was good no complaints

The rooms are old and you can feel that there has been a lot of time since last restoration.

Excellent location, comfortable room reasonable breakfast and very helpful staff. Particular mention should be made of the concierge, Ivan. The hotel should probably have more elevators . The current 2 elevators are inadequate for a large hotel.

The location, staff, breakfast was pretty good. Please try to book a room with a view. We asked for our room to be changed because looking out the window was not inspiring at all!!!! Very dark!! I have never stayed at a hotel where we needed to iron, and no iron nor ironing board. Nowadays people don’t travel with portable irons, they have the service but people don’t want to be paying extra for that? We have stayed at various hotels in Rio and didn’t have that experience. Literally walked out looking wrinkle.??♀️

Breakfast: in general good; while not the best I have had in rio, in the context of the price point it is quite good. Special mention to the mango Only very minor nitpicks! Breakfast: i think the pao de queijo could be improved, as well as the cappuccino (which I don't think is on par with the rest of the coffee, but maybe im off here). The ac can be a bit loud but it is a life saver nonetheless

The doorman do not like to open door for guest. I believe hospitality is making people feel welcome. Two doorman in front of door, not opening door for guest does not feel welcoming. Besides that, excellent reception and breakfast buffet team!

The Location was excellent. It was central and very accessible to most places. It was also right across from the beach. We also got a room that gave us a very good view of the beach. I also loved the fact that house-keeping refreshed and cleaned our room during the stay. The front desk personnel were polite and helpful, as well as the other staff. The gas smell coming from the petrol station, right across the street. It was not unbearable, but you could smell it ever so often.

The television only offered basic channels. Everything else was apps that you had to pay for monthly. It's a good idea to offer some movie channels for free, so you don't lock out guest who don't have monthly subscriptions.

An older hotel property , attractive lobby area and dining room. I had an ocean view room . Breakfast buffet was included . The location on Copacabana is usually very nice . This particular spot was noisy due to a concert venue that had been set up On the beach . Two sets of stairs at the entrance , no ramp or accessibility access . I use a walker , had to have the door person assist me every time . The entrance to my room was very tight and on an angle . Difficult to get in and out of the room . There is no pool or gym or any streaming apps on the tv .
