The staff, definitely. The team there; Katarina and Lovro in particular, immediately made me feel at home and well taken care of. They're very relaxed, welcoming, and generous with their time and hospitality. The bed was decently comfortable and the included buffet breakfast was very good indeed. The breakfast only included a handful of options but was presented beautifully and nevertheless very satisfying. The coffee machine is also available for use freely throughout the day, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's also a 10 minute walk to downtown and 20 minutes to Lion's bay (which is a really nice public beach). The room was a little small for my personal liking, especially the bathroom. My first night there I was startled to hear the plumbing from the next room over when the neighboring guest would flush their toilet; I'd hear water flowing through the walls. Thankfully I'm a heavy sleeper and was able to ignore that noise once I understood what it was.

The owner and his family are welcoming and helpful. There are two terraces open for everyone to use. It’s a great way to visit or enjoy a self prepared meal. The breakfast is excellent. We opted for the smaller room but should have gone for the larger one.

The breakfast selection was a bit repeating. Although the food was good, i missed having vegetables or more varied options.

The place was simple like a motel but charged $182 euros for a double bed room, the bathroom was very small uncomfortable, it leaked out water when you take shower. The breakfast was very good though. Definitely not worth $182 euros for a night. I didn’t like the small broken bathroom, the carpet, and small bedroom. The room smells too.

Large and clean room, very helpful staff, amazing selection of products for breakfast, convenient location halfway between the beaches and the old town. Highly recommended!

The fact that the single room is REALLY tiny was by far made up by the friendlyness of the staff and the very low season-opening-price. soo many thanks for making me feel welcome, dears!

Everything was excellent. I want to make a special note about the staff. They were so delightful! And that experience began before I even arrived, when I messaged them telling I am to arrive after check in hours and was told it was no problem and they will wait for me. Then when I arrived I felt so welcomed and I was helped with my bags up until my room. I just liked the attitude and the vibe. The location was great in my opinion. Maybe for someone who likes to be right in the center it won’t be a fit, but the town is so small that it takes only a 10 minute walk to either old town or to corrente park.

Baron Gautsch was a great place to stay. Delightful young hosts, friendly and helpful. Excellent location - 10 minutes from the bus station, 5 minutes from the waterfront down pretty steps.
