City Express By Marriott St. Augustine

Our biggest issue during our stay was the complete lack of hot water, at least in Room 311 on the third floor. This was supposed to be a special anniversary stay, and given that this is a Marriott property, we expected a certain level of quality and service. We called the front desk the first time and nobody answered. When we called again, the host answered and told us someone would be there within 30 minutes to check the hot water. Unfortunately, no one ever came—no knock on the door, no follow-up call, no explanation, and no resolution. There were several other disappointments as well. The bed was not particularly comfortable, and we encountered black racers on the property. The breakfast could also use some improvement. There were only three cereal options, a plain bagel or English muffin, with butter and cream cheese available. Plain or veg mini omelette.The coffee was standard, but there weren’t many options for customizing it—only Coffee-mate was available. We also did not see housekeeping during our Friday–Sunday stay. We were told rooms are serviced every three days and that we could call if we needed anything, which is understandable, but given the overall experience, the lack of proactive service was noticeable. Overall, the stay was disappointing, especially considering it was meant to be an anniversary getaway. We expected more from a Marriott property and hope management takes this feedback seriously.

Very Well mannered staff overall and very clean facilities. Apparently they have just opened up about 4-5 months ago.

The breakfast was not great but the free espresso coffee machine was.

The hotel is a bit far from all the attractions, but it looked clean and newly remodeled. Unfortunately the water had a really bad odor, and the room I stayed had a few roaches. Overall not a bad hotel, just minor things for them to improve.

The breakfast could of been a little different but over all all the staff was really polite and nice . The place was very nice

The facility was clean and inviting and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean overall, the attention to the supplies in the bathroom could have been better. There was a full bottle of shampoo that was not open at could not be opened by anyone staying in the room. However, this was the only problem I had and I would stay again for the great location and overall great experience.

Found a roach in the room. Don't use the gym pull up bars you will hit the roof and pool area also looked dirty. Staff was friendly.

Exceptionally clean rooms and hallway , which is the first thing We look for in a hotel. Parking is free and convenient and spacious. Nice little 'on the go breakfast', Need your own car or uber to go the main historic city area. Reception staff are helpful.

Next time I will look for a different hotel only due to poor options for breakfast. The room was great, the staff were very attentive, and the location perfect.
