Hotel Restaurant La Bergerie

Being woken up every single morning by the owner's young children running, screaming and crying up and down the halls of the hotel at 7:30am. We were among the only guests at the hotel but were given a room just down the hall from reception and the breakfast area where we could hear everything that took place anytime the hotel staff were around - why not put us down the hall where few people were lingering outside our door so we could sleep and have some peace? Seems easy enough since were were practically the only people staying at the hotel. There was a basket with mold-covered fruit in the breakfast area (which we declined to purchase after seeing) and the hotel in general was extremely dated and in serious need of a design upgrade. The pool was not open. It felt like a cheap motel. We left a day early because we didn't feel like staying another night in such an unremarkable environment.

The location was stunning, food was amazing, quiet, staff were great ? The hotel was a little tired in its decor: peeling wallpaper, soap machine in bathroom was empty, bath plug did not seal the water on the bath, no water in the fridge.

AMAZING dinner at the hotel!

The hotel bedrooms are a little tired but the patio is a bonus. There are great views of the surrounding countryside. What makes this hotel really special is the fabulous food and the exceptionally friendly staff. These were easily the best dinners we have enjoyed on our tour of France and Spain. Highly recommended if you enjoy good food. Coffee making facilities would have been good.

Angeliques was an exceptional host despite having 3 children to manage. She opened the place on our arrival as there were no other guests due to arrive before us. She served in the bar, in the restaurant and took our breakfast orders. Dinner was superb and a very good breakfast. When we arrived the hotel was shut but Angelique arrived within minutes and was extremely helpful and efficient. The room and bed were a little dated but OK for one night and the room backed onto the garden which was very nice. Unfortunately the weather was bad so we could not use the pool

We stayed over night as we had to pick something up in the area. Very clean room if a little dated. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was basic but just what you need. Great place to stay to explore the area. Rooms a bit dated

Location good for a journey on the A20. Great views from the bedrooms. Bedroom large and well appointed. A Complete Disaster for us. We complained because the facilities as stated online were not available to us. The wifi was not working in the bedroom at all and the hotel was completely closed up until 5pm. We had been told about the timing ahead of arrival but being tired after a long drive we had hoped to be able to rest in the room until 5pm. The owners became very heated, said that the restaurant would not be available to us and suggested that we left the hotel. This is what we did.
