It was a terrible stay. The apartment is old, cold and damp and does not match the description. The owner of the apartments started making phone calls 4 days before arrival and offering other options for an additional fee. Instead of accepting an advance payment for accommodation. We had a 4-day trip planned along the Amalfi coast. Three booked apartments for three days in different cities were prepaid on the website of booking.com. And we had no problems with the payment. We do not know why the apartment owner causes such problems and does not guarantee the safety of accommodation and payment.

Very cute property and very clean. Really enjoyed this hotel as was good location, clean, and decent size for the price. Host was very friendly and enjoyed Just had a little miscommunication on arrival time but it worked out! Host did an excellent job and accommodated. Overall great!

Excellent location and hostess, I had a slight flu and she checked on me everyday. Also offered to help with the meds if needed. Very present and yet discreet. Snacks were abundant and nice quality right at the entrance of the room, coffee machine 10/10, the room overlooks towards a busy street but they really invested on the windows and when closed it was very quiet 10/10, heaters on at the crucial 'cold' hours of the day. Room serviced daily The lights, as white as you can only see on a hospital. The checkout time is at 10am, no big deal but if pushed at 11 would have been better

B&B Dei Mercanti is perfectly located in the center of Salerno - minutes to the sea, to Via Roma (the main street), lots of restaurants, shopping, the Duomo, and, of course, Via Dei Mercanti is right outside for dining and shopping, and a direct walk to the newer part of the city. The staff is friendly and very attentive to any needs.

The room itself was a clean room I didn’t like that the property did not have power throughout the day

Room was a good size clean and comfortable. Quick response to my inquires Entrance that you have to go thru to get to the to the rooms is a little run down, makes first impressions iffy. Once you get past that everything is great.

The apartment is very clean. Understand that the bathroom reserved for this rental is directly in front of the entrance to the apartment, around the hall from the room. There was little traffic in the apartment and I did not feel uncomfortable about the situation but it wasn't really clear what "external bathroom" meant. What I absolutely do not like is the feeling that I helped take a nice family apartment off the housing market for the people of Salerno. I didn't realize this was one of those situations. Investors who turn apartments into short-term rentals, and the visitors who take them, are driving housing into unaffordable realms for Italians. I try to avoid this but failed on this occasion. The term "B &B" has come to mean anything, apparently.

Exceptional location, right in the historic center and just a short walk away from the main beach. They were able to accomodate our early check-in, and even left a welcome-kit with traditional local snacks! Everything is well organized such that each room has a reserved shelf in the fridge as well as a table in the common hall.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is really inconvenient, staff is rude and there's no one at the property to help you with check-in or carry-ons. I had a really negative experience here. On my last day, I asked if I could leave my bags after checkout and was told yes, but no one gave me any instructions. I messaged them asking what to do, but I never heard back. Because I didn't know where to leave the key, I ended up taking it with me on my tour. The host called me while I was away, but I was in an area with no signal. The voicemail they left was absolutely shocking—they were screaming and being incredibly rude because they needed the key. This kind of communication is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. The host's lack of communication created the problem, and their reaction was completely out of line. To top it all off, the 'private' bathroom was located outside of the room, which was super inconvenient. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

It was a clean, nice room Shouldn’t put men in the pink ladies room lol

Better soap in the bathroom. There were 3 small envelopes with shower gel which was insufficient for a proper shower. Bought my own at the pharmacy.
-
Affordable and in a beautiful part of the town. Bed could be more comfortable. Could provide more shampoo and soap. They gave very tiny packets of shampoo and didn’t refill.
-
We stayed in the “suite” however it did not come with basic kitchen supplies such as spoons, forks, knives, dish towels or dish soap. There was also not enough soap for the bathroom. Unfortunately we could hear the apartment above us as they walked around and moved furniture.
-
Soap in the bathroom was barely enough for one shower. Bought some at the pharmacy.

The front door lock to the street needs attention. Everyone staying there had difficulty. We were told about it, but it's really a hit or miss chance and should really be fixed.

The owner made a compromise to give us heat from 6 to 7 in the morning Big apartment, real photos Very well located and easy access Early check-in The heat works between 19:30 and 00:00. The rest of the time the AC doesn't cope. It doesn't have enough storage space, and it doesn't have a hanger. Check-out is way too early.
