I met the cleaning lady Raffaella and she made our stay the greatest and super easy! She handled everything very smoothly and basically runs this place, she was amazing and needs a raise!! Everything was good and bed was comfy, they also give you a comforter on the closet which made my sleep way better.

Three things that we enjoyed to some extend: - Raffaella (the woman who cleaned and did almost everything) helped us find an ATM in the beginning; she was always smiling and friendly and she tried to communicate with us as well as she was able to. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to understand her though. She also tried to meet our "needs". If it wasn't for her, I believe the BnB would get only a 2 out of 10 - Location as it was in the historical city center and you could walk to the sea withing couple of minutes - the TV screen because it was our only mental escape from the BnB since we really felt very uncomfortable there 1. We were asked if we really wanted to stay the amount of nights that we booked via booking.com and if we could please cancel our reservation. I believe the reason why the owner wants the customers to pay in cash is because he wants to avoid fees from booking.com. It was really difficult to understand what Raffaella (not the owner) was trying to ask/tell us when we arrived. 2. Almost all the instructions Raffaella wanted to give us were dificult to understand (she is very friendly though) because of rather broken English. (Not too many people around the area are fluent in English) 2. It's not worthy of being called "Bed and Breakfast" since there is NO BREAKFAST but of course we had to know that in advance. Still weird tho. 3. When we arrived, the toilet brush looked like as if it had been changed maybe five years ago. It was utterly disgusting. Also, there was so much mold in the shower that we had to force ourselves into using the bathroom at all. Obviously, we didn't want to use the shower, unless the mold would be removed. After asking Raffaella to take care of these two things (otherwise we would have looked for another acommodation and ask for a reimbursement) she showed up with a man around half an hour later. I believe it was the owner. Without saying "hello" or "I'm sorry for the inconveniences" he came into our room (not asking if it was okay to come in of course). My girlfriend was working in this room in that moment but he didn't seem to care AT ALL. Without further ado he sprayed something into the shower which smelled intensely. Yes, it was nice to know they wanted to tackle issues immediately. But please not like this... 4. Our whole stay (9 nights) the bathroom and therefore the whole room smelled strongly of chlorine. Of course you also couldn't close the bathroom door entirely. 5. Our room was right next to a road which goes uphill.

When we arrive to the hotel, the host asked me to cancel the reservation on booking, that's the only way I can book the hotel. She said that their system is not working, she is renting out the room cheaply, and she doesn't want to pay for the reservation on booking, so I should cancel the reservation and just she give me the key. SHe doesn’t tell me all this in a letter when we wrote e-mailt. I didn't understand why should I canceled the reservation if I had a valid reservation that I wanted to use. After a long debuta/ discussion, the host told me that if I didn't cancel the reservation on Booking, I couldn't stay at the hotel and I had to leave. This spotted us away because we stay there without hotel and had to go look for hotel, which takes a lot of energy and time and our whole program was upset because of this. I emphasized that I did not cancel the hotel. SHe was very impolite, impatient, and she urged us because we didn't want to cancel the reservation on booking. At the end, he was already shouting. SHe didn't say "I'm sorry/sorry or something..." This is not host behavior. I would like compensation from the host for leaving us without reason. That's not how we treat people! Don’t manipulate people like that!

There is no kitchen available there so if you bought something from supermarket for your breakfast or dinner ? . So there are no utensils there, keep that in mind. Else everything is okay.

Easily walkable to the train station! Late check-in accommodated for a later ferry into the city as well. N/A - I was happy with the accommodation for one night.

The location is good, the room was clean. There is a small fridge in the room. Street parking was easy to find. A lot of mold in the shower, but we treat this with understanding since there is no ventilation in historical buildings. B&b without breakfast.

It's a 'B&B' but there is no breakfast--nothing The office attendant was not on site very much. The listing said "free parking" but it was impossible to find. The hot water in the room failed on the first night. Fixed the next morning.

The location was good for what we needed, the room was decently sized, felt safe. - check in process was very strange - demanded cash payment without saying this in the advert - told us they overbooked the rooms and requested we cancel when we got there to check in - fridge did not work - host was very rude to us - advertised as a bed and breakfast but doesn’t provide breakfast

There was no Curtains , room was not clean & washroom was very very dirty

room was nice was large and nice furnishings I didn’t like our arrival and the older man who checked us in. he was very arrogant seemed annoyed and irritated. he never acknowledged us he just straight asked for cash. I felt very intimidated by him. I think the person should welcome their guests and make them feel comfortable. we are very new to the city and virtually don’t know anything. it would be nice to feel safe. I didn’t feel safe. it also stated Bed and breakfast. there was no breakfast or coffee offered.

The room whilst dated was quite pretty and spacious and overall clean. The location was near to a nice square with restaurants and near the beachfront. The older man who checked us in was incredibly rude. He was very dismissive and as soon as we arrived he barely acknowledge us so we were left confused but then demanded we pay cash for the room in full despite it not being mentioned anywhere on the booking (booking.com) that cash was required (we would have not minded if it did and would have had the cash ready rather than having to leave our bags at the property when we ran to a cash point) but he was so rude and did not make any effort to apologise for the lack of this information in advance. There was no one at the property when we arrived so we rang the number provided and it seemed like they were laughing on the phone and said would be 5 minutes to arrive but actually took 15 minutes (which again we wouldn't have minded but he was so rude when he arrived and didn't apologise for this). Also the location is very far and is a long way uphill from the train station/main town square/strip walking (not sure if can get a taxi/how much this would be). As we were English we understood he may not have been able to communicate with us but a friend in the group was able to speak broken Italian and suggested phoning her cousin from the area to ask to communicate and he was then able to speak some English with us? Also the bathroom is small, dated and loud.
-
the position the host has been very unkind and rude. furthermore, the walls was so thin that I heard everything that happened in the room next to us. there even wasn’t a bottle of water in the room.
-
nothingn rude, albsolutely not friendly and not professional staff. disgusting place.

I only stayed one night; room was comfortable and clean. Location is great, B&B is in a building round the corner from Duomo-Via Vernieri train station and 3 minutes walk from the amazing Duomo di Salerno. I had a great stay at B&B Donna Ada. Thank you!
