Remember that this is not about the features or the price. It's about THE BALANCE. This is a family home. You are literally a guest, albeit a paying one. For the price you won't get anywhere else you get your own clean bed with warm blankets, your own bathroom with hot shower, and all the landmarks nearby. I timed myself: it takes 15 minutes to walk to the bus station. Less than that to main square and all the walking streets that flow out of it. There is excellent coffee across the street, a selection of basic restaurants, Chedraui not too far away. And the host knows an incredible lot about this area, the country itself, the food, the people - amazing, just listen. Because the house is centuries old, it needs a massive overhaul of plumbing, heating and airflow.

The host is fantastic, he really cares about you enjoying your time while in Mexico & San Cristobal. It was great to have breakfast and coffee included. Hosteria is in a fabulous location right outside of the main centre, so it is quiet but not far! Room felt quite humid, although it did have a dehumidifier to help! Pictures could be updated, to improve the accuracy of the listing.

The owner is also quite friendly and informative.

WiFi worked very good, big tv in the room with Netflix etc, nice comfortable bed. Great location, great place to stay overall. The host was very nice and welcoming and could speak English. There was nothing that I didn’t like about this place.

Central location.

The house is really, really old, which is a magnificent pro in the age of ubiquitous Starbucks and high-rises. Step out of the door - and the street you are on is one of the town's arteries. It will take you where you want to be. Talk to the host - and he we will tell you everything not just about San Cristóbal , but about Mexico in general. I knew what I was signing up for, so there was nothing to be unhappy about.

Pros: Cheap price, good location, friendly owner Cons: The room was very damp, the hotel is very old and the restaurant that you walk through is messy and dingy. I was given the wrong room at first but this was resolved.

The owner is very kind and happy to give you tips, he is a very interesting person and knows a lot about diffenrent things. We had a lovely conversation with him. they truly want you to feel like home. The hotel is very nice and has style. If you like to stay in very crowded areas and don't like to walk a bit to arrive at your hotel, I would not suggest you this hotel as it is a bit far from the main square but there are plenty of things to see in that area of the town too and restaurants.

.The quietness of the place, the staff's kidness, the tasty breakfasts, and Wi-Fi in the room with Netflix. Toilets were always smelly like sewers smell and something must be done with the humidity in the bathroom after the customer takes a hot shower, the whole room ends up being too foggy

I have stayed here several times.. it's always been comfortable and price is good.
