Hotel La Casa de Mama

The property was beautiful with lots of artistic touches. The staff and management were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a little overwhelmed by the size of the breakfast crowd so service was noticeably slow. Returned the next day to a much smaller crowd and both service and food quality was exceptional.

Nice location, close to the center. The hotel is very clean, with a nice heated pool (the weather was too cold for us, so we did not use it, but some other guests enjoyed it) and a lovely green courtyard. We stayed here only one night and could have easily spent more time here. The only small thing that took away from our great feeling was the figure of probably the female owner who kept walking through the grounds with a frowny face, sometimes giving emphatic orders to employees.

We loved coming back to a dip in the heated pool after a day out. The room was clean, and the location was great. Breakfast was not available as the restaurant was closed, despite it saying otherwise on the website. The only drinking water was a small bottle each in the room. It would have been great if there had been a water cooler for guests to refill drinking bottles.

The property has a good location and it consists of a historic colonial building, with a small swimming pool. The staff was generally kind. Our bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Our bathroom was very old and the bath floor was broken. The hairdryer barely worked. The water coming out of the shower was either extremely hot or cold, the mixers didn’t work. When we first checked in, the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly and I found several hair in the bath. The bedroom is not sound proof and we could hear a lot of noise at night, mainly due to the pool heater which was located right next to our bedroom and was particularly noisy throughout the night. The staff working at the restaurant wasn’t particularly prompt, the waiter also seemed annoyed whenever we ordered something and would often forget part of the order such that one of us would need to wait longer to get their food.

Central hotel with lovely garden. The hotel owners were really friendly and helped us with recommendations for local restaurant and out next stops in Chiapas. The hotel only serves breakfast. The car needs to be parked in a 24 hour served paking lot 400 meters away. 100 pesos a day.

This hotel is very beautiful and very comfortable. It is a family owned business so they put their heart and soul into it. It was such a unique place to stay and the staff were so helpful and happy to help you in any way. The courtyard area was beautiful and so lovely to sit in in the morning for breakfast or at night. Everything was perfect.

Beautiful, good location, nice pool. Small beds & we found hair in the badroom. The 2 women were not friendly at all.

Hotel is close to the main square in Cristobal,very nice location,great atmosphere.Room was clean.Great value for the price. Room was a little bit small for four and dark(even with the window)
