We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and have been satisfied each time. However, this time was different because they seemed to be understaffed due to the fact that the garbage sat near the elevator the entire week that we were there. We reported to the front desk and they said they would send someone to pick it up but no one picked it up. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast but by 8am most of the trays are empty and we have to ask the staff if they will refill them. There’s inconsistency with room cleaning. On Wednesday we left our room a little after 10am, so our room didn’t get cleaned. My husband went to the front desk to ask for clean towels and they told him that they would send a worker to our room. When the gal brought us the towels we told her that we also needed wash clothes and she said that she wasn’t told that we needed the wash clothes. Then she said that she needed to walk to the other side of the hotel to get the wash clothes but she never came back. On Thursday night we went to the front desk to arrange for a shuttle ride to the train station and the guy that helped us out wrote the info down on a piece of paper but on Friday morning the gal at the front desk couldn’t find the info. Luckily we still got a ride but the staff seemed unorganized this time around.

Friendly and accommodating!

This hotel is huge and is in a super cute area, historic old town San Diego. Highly recommend based on walk ability to food and entertainment and drivability to SDSU.

We have been coming here for years and love it. My only complaint is that I was not aware they now charge $30.00 for parking. We will visit Old Town again next year but may consider another location.

Nice property. Guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay

There are LOTS of stairs at this hotel - it is a big property. Also, the breakfast is NOT very good. There is no variety from day to day. I know it's complimentary, but at other hotels we have had better complimentary breakfasts. It is a big enough property that they could afford to have more choices. As for the stairs issue, there are elevators to help out with that, but I might not have chosen this hotel because of this since we were traveling with my 84 year old mother who has mobility issues. The staff were very friendly and the location is great!

The pool area could use a restroom. You have to go down 3 flights of stairs and back up 3 flights of stairs to use the restroom or change from being in the pool and spa and all those buildings only one pool
-
My bathroom didn’t have a door. Also i get its like a hotel on like a cliffside but they don’t warn you its like 90% stairs so bring only like a single bag if you come. Its cute and rustic but i mean c’mon bro

Loved the location, the layout, huge courtyards, clean and well maintained. Used the outdoor sitting areas quite a bit, including the swimming pool.

This is a great place, clean and close to all things Old Town. The parking was inconvenient. There is parking on site but we were told to park in the main garage while we toured the town waiting for our room to be ready. When we came back at 4pm for check in they told us to move to a different garage closer to our room. Once we got to that garage there was no open spaces so we returned to the desk they told us to just park in the main garage where we had just been. The trek from that garage was long and confusing with many stairs and the elevator took us partially up then we wondered around finally figuring out we needed another elevator to finally arrive at our floor. This was difficult with all our bags and children in tow. I wish we had been told to park next to our unit unload and then park down stairs, otherwise it's a very nice place.

Bathroom doors was broken constantly falling off the track's, hold on to fridge when you open otherwise whole thing come sliding out. Perfect location for old San Diego. So yea rooms need make over

Love the hotel, my first experience was amazing but the second time I went it was an okay experience. The rooms trash cans didn’t have no bags at all, the TV would glitch on every channel. So I was a bit disappointed since I paid a hefty amount for one night.
-
Ricky at the restaurant was so helpful as was all the restaurants staff. We differently will be back.
-
The property was not wheelchair friendly to get from your room to the pool accessible
-
Pool and view, close to old town.
-
Thank you !! For making my stay a wonderful experience and having a shuttle to MCRD San Diego.

Breakfast is a huge plus! The furniture is definitely due for an update, feels rough and dirty.

And this time was the worst they gave me room that i had to figure out to connect the TV. And the worst part people in the room above me had the flintstones over at 4am.. until I finally got tired of it and called at 730am and they told will try to figure who it is..didn’t stop until 8am. But by that time had been up to leave… can i get my money back

Definitely recommend this hotel.it doesn’t feel like a best western it almost feels like Spanish village. Comfortable affordable and overall nice. The rooms are very dated but the grounds are beautiful.

The breakfast was really good. The pullout couch in the hotel room wasn't very good they need to put a mattress on it. The view from our room was awesome you could see the firework show from seaworld.
