Great location about a five minute walk down quiet beach road to the beach and the lighthouse. Also the lighthouse shopping plaza nearby was a great source of excellent food and ice cream! Comfortable room with a great staff! Everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We especially appreciated the availability of the outdoor shower to clean off from the beach before coming inside. In addition, our gracious hosts allowed us to leave our car parked there after checkout so we could enjoy one last visit to the beach. Also, they allowed us to use their cart and chairs and afterwards use the outdoor shower, all after checkout! We will be back for sure!

Far exceeded our expectations and hopes. We were welcomed by the owner who gave us a tour, oriented us to the Inn and community, showed us the amenities, which included bikes for getting around with lots of biking lanes on the Island. Also the amenities included everything for the beach-beach cart, chairs, umbrellas, towels, shell hunting equipment and bucket with a sink for cleaning the treasures, outdoor heated showers, table and chairs on the partially enclosed porch outside your door for eating, hammock and bench swing every few cottages for relaxing. Quiet, within two blocks of both bay and the gulf with white sand beaches… beautiful. Set within trees with designated parking place for each room. Our room which was one of the smaller ones, was great for my wife and I, with a fridge, microwave and dishes. Restaurants right across the street and next door, with a couple of stores within walking or riding distance, even some grocery stores a short ride down the street. We will be back!

We enjoyed a superb week! Staff was extremely helpful, our room was clean and quiet. The inn provided beach chairs, towels, and carts for the 10 minute walk to the beach, even a shell cleaning station. Plenty of bikes for guests to use. Excellent dining and ice cream shop available across the street. We can't wait to go again next year!!

Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our visit to Sanibel and staying at the Tarpon Tale Inn and look forward to going there again some day.

We were looking for a quiet place to stay. The Tarpon Tale Inn checked off every single box! From the welcoming text to the friendly Inn keeper, our stay was perfect. The room was clean and nice in size. The location was perfect! Just a quick bike ride (which were free of charge) to the beach. There were some cute shops next door and across the street. If we decide to stay on Sanibel Island again, we will be staying there!!

Everything was PERFECT - Room, Bicycles, Location, parking, outdoor fire pit. We very much enjoyed our stay. This place has every detail decided and in place for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. Couldn't be happier with our choice!!

Cannot say enough good things about the Tarpon Tale Inn! Joe and Connor went above and beyond welcoming us and communicating with us to make sure our stay was perfect. Very clean, food, coffee, ice cream, and shopping across the street and right next door. The free bikes and beach stuff were awesome. They have literally thought of EVERYTHING! Even a shell washing station. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Tarpon Tale Inn is a hidden treasure! If you want a quiet getaway on Sanibel Island with quick access to the beach, a private patio and grill, access to bicycles, an outdoor hot/cold shower, a shell washing station, and beach chairs/umbrella/wagon - this is it! The owner, Joe, has an eye for detail and it shows throughout your stay. I wanted a beach experience and that’s exactly what I got at Tarpon Tale Inn. Other than to explore (Blind Pass, Bowman Beach, Turner Beach and Captiva) the island and pick up a few things at Jerry’s, I had no need to drive. Wickie’s and Tuttle’s are directly across the street, and a deli place is next door - the Sanibel lighthouse is a .6 mile bike ride and beach access is just around the corner is across the street. The king room with full kitchen was nicely equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy. So clean! The “no-seeums” were present and accounted for, mostly at dusk and dawn, not a Tarpon Tale Inn issue because they were everywhere on the island. Guests are offered use of bug spray in the office as a shared option. The Tarpon Tale has a quaint beach vibe I know you will love!

As with most places on Sanibel, this is a family-run small business and they are eager to please. This was the perfect location for our family to call home for a week, was right next door to a family-run convenience store, across the street from ice cream, dining & shopping, and on the main thoroughfare to get to everything else on the island via car. I didn't take pics of it because honestly, that's why you go to Sanibel, to do nothing other than go to the beach, collect cool sea shells, and shop. The kitchen had everything you could need and a full-size fridge was handy for the grocery store items on the non-restaurant nights. It was a truly memorable, enjoyable and comfortable home for a week and we hope to be able to go again next year!
