Kantawa Refugio de Bienestar
About Kantawa Refugio de Bienestar
Nested in the living foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, less than 5 miles from the entrance of Tayrona National Park, Kantawa is a wellness haven for adults where the constant murmur of the Piedras River sets the rhythm of every moment. Here, surrounded by the sounds of the forest and living water, time slows down, and that is the point. The property's hydrotherapy circuit flows in harmony with this natural backdrop: an outdoor pool with hydromassage jets, floatarium, jacuzzi with aromatic essences, sauna, and Turkish bath. The Spa offers ancestral healing rituals, from warm volcanic stone massage to organic cacao treatments and sacred clay therapies, each crafted as a ceremony of reconnection. Guests stay in thoughtfully designed private sanctuaries that open onto the garden, the forest, or the river. Each space invites stillness: natural textures, a writing corner, and curated amenities that honor both the body and the environment. Air conditioning, mini-bar, private bathroom with bathrobe and hairdryer, and in-room safe are included. At Restaurant Nanawa, cuisine is a conscious ritual rooted in the Sierra, featuring tilapia from the property's own cultivation, organic herbs from the on-site garden, and vegetarian and local seafood options. Contemplative hiking trails wind through the property and surrounding reserve, including a sacred 2.5 mi route that culminates in a purifying bath in the crystal waters of the Río Piedras. Guided horseback experiences through protected forest are also available. Adults only. Free parking and complimentary WiFi on site. Simón Bolívar Airport is approximately 50 minutes away by car. Playa Los Ángeles is 6 miles from the property. Disconnect from the outside noise to inhabit yourself once again. Reserving your refuge is the first step toward calm. License Number(s): 67990

A gem of a hotel near Colombia’s beautiful Tayrona Park. Beautiful grounds and spa facilities make it a relaxing stay. Wonderful staff and food.

The property is stunning. The pool area is lovely and the rooms are comfortable. There is a restaurant on site and the food is very good. It’s a great location for visiting Tayrona National Park. After a long day of hiking in the jungle and swimming, this hotel feels like your personal oasis. N/A

Great location near Tayrona National Park. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and the food was delicious. Wifi did not reach our room but worked well in common areas.

Kantawa is a stunning oasis. Our rooms was gorgeous, full of beautiful touches. The bed was a dream! The grounds are lush, quiet and border a flowing river. The spa is everything we could want, from wet & dry saunas to hydro massage loungers to hot tubs and cooling cascades. The staff is amazing, from check in, to meals, to spa services to check out! I wish we’d stayed longer.

Staff so friendly and the place is very relaxing. Food simply amazing, both dinner and breakfast.

Staff were excellent our favourite was the food and the great job done by the chef!

Peace and quiet. A large swimming pool that we had almost to ourselves. Good drinks and food. The staff tries very hard but speaks little English. Wifi was available practically only at the reception. The place has a few gems, such as a net over the river where you can lie down. Unfortunately, the age of this hotel is already visible, but it still has its charm WiFi not working

The food at restaurant was amazing. Spa installation are really good, but just worth a bit of attention (sauna and Hamman not exactly as mentioned on the photo). You just need to ask people to set up jacuzzi or showers, they will do it immediately

The resort is very nice with a great pool and access to the river. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Anna took care of us at the restuarant and poolside. She was very friendly and caring about our needs. The food was very good, much better that we espected in such a small resort.

Enjoying the peace and natural sounds of nature. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME THERE. i LOVE THIS PLACE.

It was very relaxing, beautifully set up and had absolutely everything we wanted! It was really helpful that the restaurant was open al the time so we could eat when we wanted (delicious food) and the rooms were so comfortable and spacious! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Nothing!

Lovely grounds with a beautiful river next to the hotel. Nice facilities including the swimming pool and steam room which the staff turned on when we asked - fantastic massage. Very comfortable bed. Bedroom and bathroom quite basic.

Everything! From the staff working here, the facilities, the environment, the food!!

My husband fell ill during our stay, and the staff were so kind (offering tea, asking about his health, etc.) top notch people! Also, the amenities, such as the Turkish bath/steam room, are fantastic. The rooms are a bit dated and could use a fresh coat of paint.

So many good things. Delicious and affordable food. Comfortable clean rooms. Beautiful grounds with an amazing pool. The steam room was excellent! The best thing out of all, though, was the unbelievably good service! I got sick during our stay and the staff were so, so kind - helped me to find a pharmacy, organised taxis, offered breakfast in bed and special teas to help me feel better. Couldn’t have asked for more, thank you so much! Nothing! The only thing would be a slightly dated bedroom that needed a lick of paint, but not badly by any means.

True retreat. Extensive spa facilities. The wet areas were very well kept. The food absolutely delicious. Dinner and breakfast were the best we had in that part of the country and very reasonably priced for the quality. Vanessa, member of the staff, was incredibly helpful and attentive. The same with the reception. Warm and efficient welcome. The proximity to the river is a very attractive feature. The rooms are a bit tired. However, you spend very little time there for it to become an issue. Maybe fix the bedside lamps. Also, found the massage prices a bit high compared to similar retreats in the area.
