1) Thin walls: if other guests are loud at night you hear it and after 11pm there is no more staff there, so you have to arrange with other guests yourself 2) a lamp on the night stand for more comfy evening light would make a big difference

The peace and the silence of the property makes for the name Zen. The garden, the divine statues all over the property, the little details and the art painting on the walls makes this place very special and unique. The staff is friendly and the place is spotless clean. Room is comfortable. There is a good kitchen. I am so happy that a place like this exists in a big city and it’s right next to the metro station. Vila madalena is adorable. Nothing.

The hostel was located in a nice neighbourhood and walkable to restaurants, shops, Beco do Batman etc. We were greeted with a friendly face when we arrived and the receptionist also helped us find some vegan restaurants close by. The courtyard belonging to the hostel was lovely and the place was like an oasis in the bustle of the city. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable. I really liked the uniqueness of the place, the communal places to hang out with tables and chairs in different locations, plants, statues etc. I also thought the hostel was very good value. There was nothing about the place that we didn't like!

We loved the staff and the peaceful, welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The garden is beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a great room that fit our needs perfectly. No complaints

Everytime I’m in São Paulo, I stay in Zen Hostel. The atmosphere is amazing, very quiet, staff is super kind, I get the best nights of sleep!

Excellent value hotel, quiet, peaceful, good hot showers and free filtered water were perks. Friendly staff Would have been extra nice to have been provided with a towel in the room or some toiletries but really can't complain
