I do not believe the high reviews are valid. This is a sad hostel with almost no customers during Carnival. I paid for 5 nights and left after 1 night. Sleep is impossible in a hot room with no ventilation. Pretty much everything. There isn't even a knife in the kitchen. Showers are rationed. Owner is quite righteous and contrary and has zero customer service skills.

Great cost-benefit option and well-located. It comes with the territory of hostels, but some fellow guests (and sometimes even the staff) were very loud in common areas (e.g., kitchen). It made it hard to work from there, so there's that.

The sheets had stains, not only that but during a heat wave in the city they didn’t turn on the AC at night and only had 2 fans for the entire 10 bed dorm!!! Unacceptable!!!! I would never stay here again.
