great location Immaculate clean everywhere 100% in every way

The location was excellent for my needs, being in close proximity to the family I was visiting. My room was at the front of the building and the view over the North Bay of Scarborough was excellent. Fine sea views (and also of the hardy souls surfing and swimming in the North Sea). The other residents were all considerate of other people and I never was bothered in any way by noise from the other rooms. The shared bathroom was commented on nu other residents as being the only downside. However, I never had major problems accessing it when needed and everyone kept it quite clean. For the price of the accommodation and its location, this was at worst a very minor inconvenience.

Very easy self check in and although the decor wasn't particularly modern it was all spotlessly clean,which for me is most important. Very handy sink in the room plus tea and coffee making facilities. I didn't have my own private toilet facilities in my room and had to go down to a shared bathroom to use the toilet. Didn't like that especially at night,having to leave my room and go to a different floor in a building where I didn't know any other people staying there.

Lovely, spotlessly clean room overlooking the sea. The host was very, very welcoming and helpful and responded very quickly to messages. The instructions relating to the stay were so very clear and easy to follow. I would definitely stay in this guest house again. Thankyou NA

The only good thing was the view There was no heating! It gets chilly at night near the seaside even in the summer. I slept with my coat and leggings on. Messaged the property around 11pm as there’s no reception, got a reply just after 5am saying everything is fine, suddenly heating started working. Then it went off again when I woke up properly at around 8am. Bear in mind I don’t sleep very well, keep waking up every second hour. I will never stay there again! When I asked the property about this situation it was more like me talking to a brick wall!

There's nobody there except the Gulls Those stairs are a knee-breaker after a twelve mile walk up the coast!

Location Booked through booking.com, the BOTTOM LINE total was for 2 nights was £140 (happy), after checking my bank statement and £240 had left my account?? I contacted them by phone call to hear a message that said no phone calls and to message the property!!! So I messaged them and asked why they took out £240 instead of £140 ? They told me that they only took £100 extra instead of £200 extra ?!?! Apparently they told me after my stay if I haven’t cleaned the toilet, sink, shower, tables and hoovered up and cleaned the bedside table and left between £1 and £5 for each of the above then this would be deducted from the extra £100 that I paid ! I can’t remember them all but £1 to use a towel £2 clean toilet £3 clean Shower, £2 hoover up etc etc. no cleaning sprays, just 2 small microfibre cloths ?? The bed was uncomfortable n too low, no TV, no complimentary small soap, shower gel etc etc. Coffee n tea facilities were all in Tupperware tubs and not the usual individual sealed sachets, no milk just a small tub of milk powder !!! Was scared to eat the biscuit in case I got charged……. Tried to have an afternoon kip before going out later only to have scaffolding put all the way up to the roof ( I was the top floor) I was offered another room at around 3pm but I said it’s Sunday !!! and surely they will be finished soon so declined to pack and move. I was also told that the would be changing the roof at 10am on my checkout day which was fine by me BUT they started changing the roof at around 8am and the noise was unbearable I truly thought someone of something was going to end up in my room so I packed up and left early. I get that maintenance needs doing but that was beyond a joke… Although I got all of my £100 deposit back 2 days later ( it only takes 2 hours max for a bank transfer) I did clean and hoover everything and left a £1 for the towel..let’s just say I wasn’t impressed.. On returning I home I checked the through booking .

Close to the beach and very clean

The view over North bay was exceptional. The room was clean and, although compact it was perfect for a short stay with a space to hang clothes and a small en suite bathrooom. The table and chairs in the bay window is perfectly placed to take in the sea views. Although you could pay for a permit, parking on the road outside was impossible. We found a nearby long stay car park.

It was very clean tea coffee was supplied, had towels tv hair dryer nice clean bathroom, not all places have everything you need these days, location wa very good very close to the beach definitely would recommend to anyone staying in Scarborough, I would stay again if I'm in scarebough again thank you areawest. Only thing is there is no one to ask if you are stuck we couldn't get in when we arrived because I didn't get an email from them with codes to get in an code for room, but it was easy to sort just had to email them to to get codes to get in.

Great location and everything you need for a short stay. Very comfortable and a great view. You will read negative comments, but they are not justified at all.
