Metropolo Xin Cheng Hotel, The Bund Shanghai

The location is outstanding, right in the middle of everything I wanted to do. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and their English was excellent. I'm really glad I chose this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this art deco hotel, with gorgeous décor and is clean and beautifully presented throughout. My room was spacious, with a large window overlooking the intersection, and I enjoyed the breakfast options each morning. The staff really stood out, always offering a warm welcome, opening doors, pressing the lift button, and the doorman even carried our bags up and down the front steps. Laundry facilities are conveniently located in the basement for a small fee, which is great when you are travelling for a longer period of time.

Loved the art deco styling. Location was perfect, 2 blocks from the Bund, 4 blocks from Nanjing road. We walked to the Qipu road markets in about 25mins. Lots of restaurants close by. Laundry facilities available in the hotel. Rooms were spacious. We booked a sassy room through booking.com and when we arrived was told that the bed was a king single 1.2m wide. We were offered to upgrade to a king bed room for an additional price. Would have been good to have these descriptions at time of booking.

AC is very bad. Dont work at all. The front desk did even try to consider a late check out. Rude attitude.

The location was excellent, with many popular places within walking distance. The staff arranged a taxi for our airport transfer, but there was a communication issue with the driver, who mistakenly dropped us off at the railway station instead of the airport. We had to use a translation app to communicate with the driver and resolve the situation. Additionally, the room phone rang twice at 1:00 a.m., waking us in the middle of the night.

Big spacious room We were there for 9 nights. Some of the staff wasn't responsive to your needs. Some staff are not well trained. Staff A gave me different info from Staff B. Some staff wasn't very helpful and some staff wasn't friendly. There wasn't much stuff catering for family needs, more of business and friends travel instead. The not so friendliness and approachability of staff, the breakfast spread (which was really not fantastic), and the not so family friendly hotel. On the last day, they were quite apologetic and though there are few more incidents, but they made some service recovery, which made us feel at least better. It would be better if they are made more family friendly, or probably make guests feel more like home, e.g. greetings or have a better spread, better tasting breakfast.

Good location and decent room. The room was getting hot and I asked the reception to send a fan and they immediately sent it. The room ac was not working. I understand it was winter but it was very hot in the room.

location, location walking distance to the Bund restaurants, Nanjing walking street, the blues and jazz club, the underground metro room 1003 is on the 10th floor which we got an upgrade, had its own patio conditioning was an issue, asked them to look at it, we left the door and windows open, but there was some construction going on so got noisy early morning

Initially, they gave a room near the server room, where there was an unbearably loud noise. I asked to be moved to another room.Mosquitoes are flying in, there are no nets on the windows
