Artyzen NEW BUND 31 Shanghai

Breakfast was good. Location is excellent. Staff is very good. Hotel ambience is very calm, comfortable and serene. Room accessories are very relevant and of good quality. Complimentary drinks add value. My last day travel from hotel to Airport was managed by Hotel Reception staff. A taxi, a Red Buick with registration plate like 911 was arranged by the hotel staff. As I reached at the Quanngi airport, taxi driver asked for RMB 188/- It was too much. At my arrival, I have paid 100 RMB from Shanghai airport to the hotel. This Buick driver was pushing me for 188 RMB. He was quite aggressive in his tone. He did not give me a proper receipt of taxi fare. Due to his aggression, I paid him 190 RMB. I felt like Robbed. I believe that reception staff had hand in glove with this driver. All this happened on April 26. 7.30am. Hotel security cameras footage of that day will provide further details about this driver, its car and who arranged him. I exepect Artyzen management to probe into this. It was the only very bad experience I have during this travel and stay.

I stayed at this hotel before and accidentally forgot my earphones. The staff kindly arranged to send them back to me without charging anything, which truly impressed me with their excellent service. Because of this, I decided to stay here again with my family, and I’m certain I will return for a third and fourth stay in the future.

I was in this hotel for about 25 days in 2025 (winter and in summer). The hotel is located near a subway access (300 feet), 5 minutes from the huge mall underground entrance and that is very convenient as Shanghai is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The mall is probably the best reason to book this hotel. The luxury mall is located near the hotel (in the new bund) where you can find every kind of luxury item for your spouse or partner can wish. You can also find restaurants in the mall (good and not always very expensive). I advise to consider the corner suite 1512 that has a wonderful view. The hotel is almost new and affordable. The best part for me was the breakfast that was european and chinese. A must to start a nice day. I would like also to thank Carey that was very professional and helped me multiple times when I tried to solve issues (Disney reservation where people talked only Chinese). She helped me and my family in English and spent as much time as needed to solve any issue we faced. Carey was very nice and translated in English every time it was needed. Thank you again.

I liked that the room was clean, that's the first aspect. The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was huge, with a separate toilet, making it possible to use both facilities (shower/bathtub and toilet) simultaneously if the room accommodates two people. Although I paid for breakfast every day, I only went once, and I regret it. In terms of dishes, breakfast is not exceptional, but it has plenty of fruits, and the dragon fruit is incredibly delicious. The staff's hospitality is remarkable; I've rarely seen anything like it. Every day, my bed was made, I was given fresh towels, my sink was cleaned, and the trash was taken out. It’s a downside that the room doesn’t have an Ethernet port, and you can only connect via Wi-Fi, which is a negative point for me, especially in China, where you need a VPN to access platforms like Microsoft Teams (and I’m a teacher who needed to participate in online classes), Google, Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram. I brought an Ethernet cable with me, but I had no use for it. Another negative aspect is that some hotel staff don’t speak much English, requiring a translation service to communicate effectively with everyone.

I've heard that there were some sewage smell on previous reviews. There was that, but I think it went away after a couple of nights (it was between the sink and the toilet bowl). Guess it could be that the room needs to be used for a while to air it out

Modern and new hotel, close to subway and many restaurants and shopping mal. I like the architecture and interior. Rooms are big and bathroom is great. Easy to book taxi and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Mobile network had bad coverage in my room, however this area is under developing, so I assume this will improve.

New and moderne hotel. Great place to stay in Shanghai for a reasonable price, great breakfast, and friendly staff. Close to many restaurants and Subway line 6, 8 & 11. Approx 30 minutes to airport by taxi (200RMB) Room had poor 5G Mobile signal, but only on some rooms it seems. Area is under development, so there are construction work nearby.

Superb

Great location, only a 5 mins walk from Taikooli shopping area with lots of eateries, cafes etc. It’s also there where the Oriental Sports Centre metro station is - connecting with Line 8 and Line 11. Right outside the hotel (30s walk) there’s a Starbucks and a food mall. The staff were all really friendly and extremely helpful, ordering taxis and showing us how to get places.
