Expo Hotel Sofia

The hotel is great - clean room, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. They also offer a free shuttle to Sofia Airport.

The hotel is a short cab ride from the airport. I didn't hear much noise in my room. The hotel's web site says its restaurant is open until 10 PM. I ate dinner at that restaurant two years ago. However, now it closes after breakfast, which isn't mentioned in the Booking listing or website. There's very little around the hotel; i had to order online. Smelly trash from the previous guest was left in the bathroom, and the shower pressure was weak. The door to my room wouldn't close and latch when I went out, meaning when I went down to get my online food delivery, I had to leave my things in a room with an open door. When I checked out, I just left the door wide open and told the reception staff about the issue, and they didn't seem surprised. Also, staff seemed to do the minumum: When I checked in, the desk worker told me that if I was interested in the airport shuttle, I needed to go to the hotel's website to see the schedule and book it, while during my stay two years ago the desk staff was happy to spend a minute showing me the schedule and reserving a seat.

The hotel is fairly new but sadly badly maintained and you can see cracks, paint falling off, etc. The "soap" in the shower was very much watered down. I discretely mentioned it to the staff, they took a note but nothing changed. The walls are paper-thin and you will hear everything.

room was huge. it was very clean and modern. bad is very comfortable. bathroom has all necessary amenities. big and free parking lot. easy check in and check out. breakfast could be better. i dont like deposit they take upfront. i dont know when it will be returned.

Clean and spacious rooms Parking was an issue. Constraction workers were taking all parking lot spots. We were told to move our rental car because there was a parking lot repair at seitan spots but no direction or understanding that we were guests of the hotel. Unacceptable !

We have stayed at Expo Hotel Sofia several times now, both for business trips and when flying out of the capital. The location is incredibly convenient, situated right on the main highway as you enter the city from the A1 motorway. They have a spacious parking lot, which is a huge plus. The free airport shuttle is fantastic and gets you to the terminal in just 7-10 minutes. The on-site restaurant is quite good; we’ve enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there. The staff is professional and efficient—when we had a minor issue with our room lock, they resolved it immediately. Highly reliable hotel!

I booked this hotel because it offered an airport transfer. I booked the transfer for 3:50 a.m., but the shuttle left without me. I was only 2 minutes late, and nobody informed me in advance that the transfer would not wait. As a result, I had to take a taxi and pay extra charges.

parking The elevators weren’t working properly. They gave us a card that didn’t open the door, so I had to go down again (9 floors). Then we had a bath which was leaking everywhere — it leaked not only in the bathroom but also through the wall into the main room and left everything soaked. There were water spots on the walls and on the ceiling. Overall, wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
