Time has not been kind to the resort. The maintenance has been neglected for a very long time, the AC in the first room turned on but did not cool. Changed rooms, second room there was some but very little relief. The staff was very kind, and attentive. Options at the restaurant were very limited (likely due to very low guest numbers). The facility had 'charm' and the gardens were being maintained, they were lovely. The location provided a great spot to view the sunset. Poor quality (dangerous in places) of the boardwalk, poor AC in the rooms, lack of hot water, limited options for food.

Super friendly staff. Restaurant on the property was great! Beautiful property can’t beat the sunset view on the ocean. comfy bed and AC was great. Pool is equally as beautiful. No hot water unfortunately so showered in the cold

The property is nice, and the rooms are decent. The view from the restaurant is lovely and it is nice to hang out there and enjoy a coffee, juice and some food. There is a lot of variety on the menu. The coffee is delicious and so were all of the juices we tried. The food was also very good. And several of the staff members were lovely- especially the concierge and the main waitress who worked in the mornings. Overall, although everything looks nice, the resort is a little run down and actually kind of hazardous, especially the boardwalk that runs all through the property. I saw three people break boards just in my two days there! They really need to redo the entire boardwalk before someone gets hurt. The restaurant prices are very high. For example, like 45,000 for juice and coffee (if I remember correctly) and 80,000 for simple vegetable dishes. I should have taken photos of the menu but I did not so I can’t remember exact prices but they were 2-3 times what I had been paying in Sulawesi and what I saw in local warungs… and since you are physically isolated there are not really any other options. In the early morning (like before 7:30/8 am) there are no staff members around, so if you want a coffee or early breakfast, good luck! Also, there is no hot water in the shower. I expect that from a homestay but not from a “resort”.

garden, room, staff, good restaurant, nice pool, nice views on sea - almost everything well resort is fading, some years ago it was great place but something happen (one of issue can be that it isn't beach resort anymore). But so far so good - still worth to stay here if You are in Sorong.

Nature pool good view from terrace. Poor lighting in the room

The only thing missing was a small fridge in the room.

Good wifi I stayed 3 days at Katsuari Resort on 8-11 Jan. 2025. I regret the choice because the resort sadly has not been maintained. The rooms are badly run down, aircons are old, more cleaning is needed to satify guests. The 2 pools sadly are have not been reglarly cleaned as green algae is growing at the bottom. This is a health risk for anyone swimming! The staff is minimal and do not speak english at all so communications were poor and difficult. On the positive side the wifi worked well and could be found all over the resort. The restaurant dishes were pretty good but service not attentive at all. I will not go back to this place and my stay was a disappointment and uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend anyone to pay to stay at this place- its a crime to leave the beautiful grounds so badly managed.

No alcohol

The view and the food It was dirty and in serious disrepair, out of beer and wine, and AC barely worked

Out of town and next to the water I had high hopes for this place, but it’s sadly fallen into ruin and isn’t maintained. Sheets had holes, lights didn’t turn on, and the outside door handle to the room was so wobbly it felt like it was going to fall off. While my husband was showering water began pouring out of the overhead light in the bathroom (see pics). Staff let us switch rooms, and while the new one was better, it was still dirty and neglected. Patio with the best view of the beach is roped off, beach access is closed, and boards are loose on pathways around the “resort”, so I wondered when one would flip up and smack me while walking. This place way overpriced for the value and I don’t recommend it—you’re much better off finding a cleaner, cheaper place close to town.

They advertised having a bar, they only serve beer.

A 20 minute taxi from the airport, secluded outside of town. Amazing bar and deck overlooking the ocean. Nice pool. Clean and comfortable. The staff speak a little English, enough to get by. I liked it better then anything else I saw in Sorong.
