Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott South Bend at Notre Dame

Excellent location (for Notre Dame) and great facilities nearby. Poor breakfast

Good stay. Lobby is a little on the smaller side, but no issues. Not too crowded early in the morning.

Close to venue we were interested in Pool was too cold for grandchildren to swim in

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold items. The room was comfortable, with my only complaint being the floor did not look like it was vacuumed. Other than that I had a pleasant stay.

The morning of checkout there was a knock at our door about 9am asking us when we were leaving. I was a little taken aback as I knew we had at least until 11. I said we would be checking out soon. The desk associates when we checked out were apologetic.

Breakfast was good. Location terrific. Had some issues with the toilet in our room and it was fixed quickly. Beds very comfy. Drapes blocked the daylight which was very nice.

The room never got below 72 degrees. We got the run around from all the staff. It’s summer and very hot outside.

Great location that is easy to access in a beautiful part of town, hotel and rooms are clean and well maintained. Overall great location to stay.

I liked the location and the staff was friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the room could have been better. For instance, there was sticky goo on the side table by the bed, and there was a dirty sock left by a prior guest by the curtains.

Location Housekeeping was not provided despite several reminders. In addition, one of the building’s two elevators was out of service for the duration of our stay, causing significant inconvenience. Most disappointing was the apparent lack of concern or urgency from the staff when these issues were raised. Overall, the service fell well below expectations.

This was a great facility. My only complaint t was the breakfast as it was very limited. As someone with food allergies to eggs and pork I was very limited on what I could eat there. Otherwise this place was a great place to stay and so close to Notre Dame.

Cons: Sleep quality was not good. The mattress was not comfortable (as in other Marriotts), and the AC was very loud and there was no way to turn it off.
