House Boat Zaindari Palace is located in a serene and peaceful part of Dal Lake. The boat is located at the end of a few boats, so it only has a neighbour on one side that is also owned by the same owner. This is a beautiful part of the lake where you can sit on the deck outside and watch the quiet goings on of life on the lake, along with the amazing birdlife. The lake is surrounded by the Zabarwan mountain range that rises impressively all around the region. The houseboat is beautifully and comfortably furnished with traditional carpets and rugs and timber furniture. The bed in our room was cosy and comfortable. Imran is a kind and honest host. He cooked us delicious homemade meals that filled us and kept us satisfied. He explained the history of the houseboats and more broadly about Kashmir, which we found fascinating. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Thank you, Imran. What a special experience.

Caretaker Imran was absolutely superb - responsive, polite, attentive

The location was good. Houseboat was very quiet. The host tried to assist with planning but unfortunately I felt that he was just trying to make money and not really help you I got half board and the food was terrible. You had no idea what you were getting no choice and no communication prior. Breakfast was terrible the western breakfast was terrible so the next day I got the local breakfast which I could not eat. The host was not even concerned whether you ate the food or not. I was forced to cancel two days of the booking. I then rang for a taxi but the taxi had to wait an hour as I had to wait an hour to get transport from the houseboat to the mainland which was arranged by the houseboat The photos in booking are not really totally representative of the houseboat. Food photos are totally untrue. The shower looked good in the photos. The shower is a trickle and the curtain and roof are full of mould
