Hotel Mistral St. Julian's, Affiliated by Meliá

Location was very convenient and the room was spacious. The bathroom was small and the sensor of the bathroom fan was very sensitive and loud, so whenever you would pass by, it would make a very strong noise. But minor point.

The location is quiet and close to all amenities

Staff extremely friendly, and the location is just great. We loved staying here. We got twin beds, it was uncomfortable to sleep. I didn’t ask them to change it, maybe they would, idk.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of everything, close to restaurants, pubs, shops, and several bus lines that connect you to the whole island. The cleaning was excellent, breakfast was decent, and the amenities were very good. But what truly made this hotel stand out was the staff. They are the reason I would come back. Their genuine care, kindness, and willingness to help made the whole experience feel like staying in a 5-star hotel. Absolutely amazing team!

The room was clean and the furniture was in good condition, but the pillows were very uncomfortable. There was no wardrobe, and since there were two of us, storage space was not enough. The view from the window wasn’t terrible — at least not facing a wall — but it was of an old, unattractive rooftop of the neighboring building, which wasn’t great. The staff were absolutely amazing — friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. Special thanks to the bartender at the pool who gave us lots of useful tips. Breakfast was included and, while it wasn’t bad, it was exactly the same every day. It’s disappointing to have no variety, especially in Malta where there’s such a wide range of fresh products and cooking options. The rooftop pool sounds great in theory, but its depth is only 90 cm, which is definitely not enough for adults. I can recommend this hotel only if you’re not expecting anything impressive. For the price we paid, we expected more. Personally, I wouldn’t return, and I’d advise friends to pay a bit more for a hotel with a proper pool, a better breakfast, and basic storage furniture like a wardrobe or at least a chest of drawers.

However, no drinking water in room, empty mini bar, and have to go to a different floor to even just get water when called room service. View was neighbour's electronic phone wires and people people can see into your room. Bathroom is very very small. Beds had no comfy blankets, only sheets. Only benefit was rooftop pool, but it's also open to public, so not very secure. Make sure you lock your room. Elevator isn't key carded.

Exceptional

Super friendly staff, available at any time. Coffee and tea at our disposal in the kitchen the whole day. Nice pool at the rooftop. It was a littlw weird as the cleaning staff was cleaning pur room while we went for the breakfast. The room was cleaned every day but we did not expect the staff to be in the room as we came back to the room. Not a big problem though.

We had the best stay, it was my partners birthday and the staff made it so special, they were so friendly and extra helpful. The hotel itself was absolutely spotless and maintained perfectly. The facilities were all perfect, the room was beautiful, extra clean and had everything we needed, we loved the balcony too. The location was absolutely perfect, in the centre of st julians, walking distance to the bay, lots of bars & restaurants and anything else we needed, there’s also a bus stop 2 mins away that takes you anywhere on the island, it only took 30 mins to get to Valletta. Im really glad I chose this hotel, and when I (hopefully) return to Malta in the future I will definitely stay here! An extra perk is that it it not a huge hotel, so it’s not busy, there’s not tons of people walking past your room or fighting for space at breakfast, it made the hotel feel very homely! Breakfast was great, location was good, really close to the bus stop for the city center and the airport. There are bars/clubs, supermarket and restaurants at walking distance. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Pool space was relaxing. We were given a room on a high floor, as requested. Pool was a bit small and shallow, there could be some fresh orange juice for breakfast. There was a bath towel with a stain on it but they replaced it with new ones right away. The gym is located at another hotel nearby. Also, it could be a bit cheaper.

The location was very good and accessible. Ms.Alma at the reception was very helpful and kind. The room was overall comfortable. Even though we booked a room with a balcony we were checked into a room without a balcony and the room seemed smaller compared to the pictures.

Very clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff. For the price of 70€ per night was good. The hot water wasn't enough for two persons. That problem is referred also from other people to the comments and is just 100% truth. Also the isolation is definitely not enough. One hour later check in it shouldn't be an issue.

Excellent hotel. Staff were always very friendly, the room was spacious, with a balcony and spotlessly clean and also cleaned every day. The hotel also has a lovely heated rooftop swimming pool. The location is fantastic. You are within walking distance to everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We went for a weekend holiday in February with a friend, and I can't emphasise enough how perfect it was! All of the staff we met made us feel welcome and had some lovely chats too! Our room was spotless, the pillows were super soft and we really enjoyed the rooftop pool (which was heated), as well as the gym. The breakfast had a good selection with english breakfast and fresh pastry, vegetables and fruit. I'm vegetarian, but still had a lot of choices! The hotel is near a busy party/shopping area, but on a quiet street, so it was really convenient for going out and still had a good sleep after.

The accommodation was great – everything was clean and nicely arranged. We had coffee every day, and the room was cleaned daily. The staff was incredibly kind, especially the reception staff from Serbia – they were amazing! The rooftop pool was a highlight, and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace was lovely, and the location was perfect – not noisy at night, contrary to what some reviews say about this area.
