Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sulphur (Lake Charles) by IHG

The room was perfect, the check-in was easy, however, the complementary breakfast was slow, they ran out of everything quickly with not that many people in the dining room, and we had to wait over 30 minutes for one attendant to refill the pancake batter. Small children were anticipating having pancakes and had to wait. We felt so bad for them, we tried to assist and ended up, leaving and eating at the waffle House.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little smaller than I anticipated from the pictures but otherwise it was very nice.

Location and somewhat cleanes, decent but not excellent. Room was too small, breakfast omelettes and some other items tasted too artificial, broken ice machine on second floor.

I didn't like that in the hallway going and leaving out from the pool area was so wet. Please figure out a solution for that. Plus, the elevator was wet too.

The drink machine was out of order. It could of been nice that at least 2 of breakfast drink could of been served in a pitch. Not everyone drinks coffee, teas, and milk. Plus, when i was asking for help with the breakfast employee he acted like me aaking him if the breakfast sausage was pork or turkey was a problem. And, last he just left the food he would clean off the cabinet in floor. Me and my family was in the breakfast lounge for more than 20 minutes and to step in the food mess if we wanted to get to certain food. I didn't like that in the hallway going and leaving out from the pool area was so wet. Please figure out a solution for that. Plus, the elevator was wet too.

Clean rooms, great staff, but unfortunately the shower in my room was not a raised bathtub type shower and the slope for the flat bottom drainage did not work like it should (was even with the floor with no trim stop!). Halfway thru my shower I noticed that almost the entire bathroom had about an inch of water and flowed all the way into the front entrance hallway...almost to the carpet in the room! I had to use every towel in the room to soak up the water and stop further catastrophe. They should definitely look into that because if I wouldn't have noticed and acted quickly, there would have been water soaked carpet, padding, etc!

This was my first time here, everything went pretty much well. Early in the a.m. door slamming and it woke me up. TV in living room worked well. TV in bedroom did not work. Had to call Maintenance many times to fix it. Lots of problem with volume on TV. Breakfast was okay. Not worth mentioning. It was good to see that there was coffee and tea available 24 hours a day. Roads leading up to the hotel are in terrible condition and can damage your cars seriously. Drive slowly and carefully. Swimming pool and work out gym were very standard. Nothing around the hotel for good quality restaurant. Though the site is closer to I-10, not recommended for stay. I would recommend going furhter on I-10 East or even off of I-210 East.

Clean and easy to find

Didn’t like the huge roaches that were in our room. Each night we were getting rid of 2 to 4 roaches per night. Hotel didn’t do anything or recommend a solution. The price we paid was not worth it worrying if roaches were in our bed.
