Wyndham Garden Suzhou

An older hotel but room was nice.

Good location Location

We chose the hotel because it seemed ideally close to all the best offerings Suzhou offers visitors. And we were right. The metro was close by too, but we easily walked to the majority of sites. The hotel is starting to show its age and on occasion we could hear our neighbours through the wall. Apart from that I can’t think of much more to criticise.

Great customer service, helpful. Location is close to subway and many eating shops around. Beds are small, king single rather than double or queen size. Provided two beds for 3 people. There is no refrigerator although advertised as having one.

Breakfast is really amazing. One of the best I’ve tested in China. Fornitures in the room are a little bit old and should be renewed. We have a problem with plugs in the room: none was working with adapters (easily used in other hotels during our trip).

The hotel wholes hotel reeks of smoking. Our room smelled heavily of smoke. We got upgraded to a new room that didn’t smell like smoke. However the floor carpet had stains. The wall paper is also about to fall off multiple places in the hallway. The hotel desperately needs a renovation. On the positive, the staff were super friendly and professional. And the location is a central as it get in old Suzhou.

Facilities are a little old. Room insulation is poor as footsteps and neighbouring room noise can be heard

Helpful staffs at check in counter. Good advice on city sightseeing locations, food and epayment system. Serious problem on lack of manpower for housekeeping and hotel public area cleanliness. Room carpet NEVER vacuum daily. Our clean in room slippers were always stuck with stranger's hair. Existing hardworking SOLO cleaner tried her best by changing towels daily, tidy bed, to the point we asked her she doesn't have to do it daily for our room. By the way, there are 300 rooms to manage.

Good location. That is it. Air-con only blew hot or warm air so it was awful being in the room with no circulation even with windows open. Bathroom flooded because the shower didn’t drain properly. Bathroom and main room door broken. The room’s carpet and fittings were extremely worn and dated.

Building looks grand but old Its dark and a bit scary

Everything was bad, from the room to the service. The hotel was old and did not have much amenities. Rooms were very dim even when all the lights were turned on. The air conditioning in the room was just there for decoration as the staff said that they do not turn it on. This was honestly the worst part as it was 33 degrees celcius outside and when I called the staff to ask about the air conditioning, he just told me that it was operated by a central control and could not be turned on. He did not offer any solution and when I asked for a fan, he just told me that the hotel ran out of it already and he could not help me. However, we did notice that there was air conditioning in the hotel lobby and it just felt like the staff was just lazy to solve this issue for us. I definitely will not recommend this hotel to anyone as there are so many other hotels around the area that look newer and have a better location (as they are even nearer to the metro station and the shopping street).

Great location with train stations at walking distance and plenty of restaurants around. Dated rooms and corridors. The room smelled of smoke and the heating made it uncomfortably warm. Adequate for a one-night stay.

Location Food

The location is pretty good close to the center and a lot of shops around does look like the photos but some years ago, so everything is useful but somethings are a bit old. But for the rest it’s a really nice hotel for the price and location.
