CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S 2024/2025: All bookings between 23rd December and 2nd January are NON-REFUNDABLE and are subject to a 10 night minimum stay. Payment will be processed within 72 hours of booking and if the card cannot be charged then your booking will be canceled. Please also note that our reception will be closed to arrival and departures between 23rd December and 2nd January: no check-ins or outs will be allowed during this time. If your booking contains a check in/out scheduled for those dates then it will be subject to immediate cancellation. We do not accept bookings of 8 or more people. With air conditioning throughout, you'll stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, comfortable year-round. While all adults are welcome, dorm rooms are recommended for guests aged 18 to 35. - A valid passport or international passport is needed for check-in. - Your card will be charged 1 day prior to your arrival. Kings Cross feels like the perfect area to stay in Sydney, you can easily walk to the water, Surry Hills (with lots of bars and op shops) and the CBD (sightseeing and party). The hostel runs free events every evening, a big communal kitchen and a cozy TV room that also works perfectly as a space for working or relaxing. All rooms have ac and the beds are super comfortable and soft. My room was huge and they clean several times a day, which you can definitely notice. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly hostel with a homely atmosphere and a great location, I met really cool people there!

I had an amazing stay at Kings Cross Hostel and would highly recommend it. The staff were always incredibly friendly, helpful, and polite. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. What impressed me the most was the cleanliness of the hostel. I have stayed in many hostels before, but I have never stayed in one that was this clean. The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were always spotless and well maintained. The events organized by the hostel were fantastic and made it very easy to meet new people. The atmosphere was incredible everyone talked to everyone, and it felt like one big community. I quickly made new friends and always felt included. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi did not work very well at times. Other than that, everything was perfect. Thank you to the whole team for such a great experience. I would definitely stay here again!

Mad Monkey Kings Cross is both affordable and leaves you with easy access to a lot the area has to offer. Free events every night that is going to result in free food or free drinks, sometimes both. Social atmosphere and very easy to meet new friends here. Nothing

I had such a lovely stay at this hostel! I stayed in the women’s room, which was spotless and had its own bathroom. Tess at reception was absolutely wonderful, so kind and incredibly helpful, and the rest of the team were just as friendly and welcoming. The location is also very good, really close to everything, which made getting around super easy.

I really liked the atmosphere of this hostel! A great mix of people who were all really keen to socialise without it seeming like too much! I noticed that the rooms were cleaned daily in my stay, which I think is great especially in some of the bigger rooms. The staff were always really friendly when I had questions about things to do in the area! The free events with food and drinks throughout the week are also great when travelling on the budget! My room was upstairs, but at least then you don’t get much noise from the street

Most of the staff were really friendly. The mattress I was sleeping in, I could feel the wires on my body. I woke up feeling so sore and tired that I had to miss out on some activities. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, she said they were changing some mattresses but that weekend was extremely busy so they couldn't change all. I wasn't offered anything from this, would have been a good customer service to receive some kind of refund at least for that night. I fixed this issue myself, moving to another bed when my friend left the hostel. Additionally, the power plug didn't work. I reported this tp reception and the response was because it was the weekend, probably they wouldn't be able to get anyone to fix it. There wasn't a solution to this issue from them either, like a extension cord. I was lucky I took my 3m USB C cable to charge my phone and I plugged it on my friends wall plug. The hostel doesn't have a proper "meeting" space. The kitchen is very small and the TV room gets shut after 10pm. So not much opportunity to make friends.
