Nice room, very comfortable beds, little playground for children outside, peaceful, some beautiful decorations (e.g. the brass gates). No contact at all with staff... all communication was via text message, which felt very impersonal. We have stayed in Szklarska Poreba many times before, where staff in pensions or villas have been pleasant and very helpful. Here we felt like we were just staying in an automated bedroom from AirBnB. We were very disappointed when we were told that we couldn't leave our luggage somewhere before properly checking in (check-in is not till 3pm). In 20 years of travelling, I have never had that experience. Staff are normally willing to put your suitcase or backpack in a cupboard until check-in is possible (and after check-out). But here we were just curtly told it was not possible. Aside from that, the shower was very weak. And, whilst it was nice to have some cups and mugs in the room to drink with, there were no facilities available to wash them. Most places like this have a guest kitchen, so it's a shame this place didn't have one (maybe it did, it's just that no one told us where it was!) WiFi was very weak, and didn't work at all on the second day. It says on booking.com that the place has a "tea/coffee maker" but it doesn't. It only has a kettle for boiling water. If you want coffee, you have to bring your own and make it "po turecku" (i.e. in your mug!)

Location was good. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, but we missed fruits. Old house and the floors creak. The bed was too low.
