PopInn has a very nice vibe about it with a comfortable communual area. Its used mainly by local people but I did meet an english speaking person my second night there. TJ on reception told me everything I needed to know including where I could get an evening meal not too far way. I didnt use the bikes that were available. Afterwards I had some treatment at a nearby massage shop. Beds are very comfortable and the duvet and linen are of good quality with a shelf and charging point and light. Roller blinds for each bunk bed provide privacy. There are large spacious lockers. Security is good at the Pop Inn as you need a security code to get in the front door and the dorm rooms are locked as well. I provided my own breakfast and used the toaster and Ikea crockery and cutlery. There were tea bags available to use but I couldnt work the coffee machine. Location next to the river was good and the surrounding area is pleasant to walk in. Its within walking distance of the AnPing Fort and the Limestone Museum. From there I got a bus to the pier for the Green Tunnel. I was able to get a bus from there back to the hostel. In the morning it was a short walk of a few blocks to the bus stop where I got a No14 to the train station. Its nothing to do with the Pop Inn and it was just bad luck I suppose but I didnt get much sleep as the first night a guest arrived in the room about midnight (lights on, unzipping of bags etc,) then another guest got up at 5 am to pack her case for an early departure. These things happen in hostels I suppose. The second night I had the room to myself but at 1.30 am a guest was using the hairdryer in the shower room for ages. (Despite signs saying to be quiet after 10pm) For some reason the doors to the shower rooms are kept open so you hear a lot of noise from them as they are just a few feet away from the three bedrooms on the floor I was on. I didnt see any cleaning being done. there was always hair on the floor in the shower room and the scrubbing sponge in the kitchen sink had seen better days.

Wifi is strong, bed is comfortable. Bathroom is fine. I slept well. Kitchen has very good coffee. It is far away from the city centre. The bathroom should have a hanger or some table, its so annoying you have to put your stuff on the floor...

1. Clean rooms, bed was comfortable. Bathrooms were super clean, they provided nice smelling bath gel and shampoo, shower had strong pressure. 2. Location was close to most sites in Anping, and also close to city centre. Things were all near by. 3. Some of the famous restaurants were within walking distance. 4. Can do your laundry at a cheap price. 5. The staff were exceptional, they will help you in away way they can. 6. There is a nice place at the lobby for you to do your work. Stayed at a few hostels but main concern is the noise. Whatever noise your roommates make will be audible. You cant really avoid it. Personally wearing ear plugs make me uncomfortable but if you can wear it, then I highly recommend it. Again, its an awesome place to stay in. But noise is just unavoidable.

The bed in the female only dorm had plenty of space and the bathrooms were great. I arrived early and I was able to have a coffee, leave my luggage and borrow a bike to cycle to the Green Tunnel. I also visited the fort, treehouse and Old Street. Staff were awesome. Maybe some local maps showing the bus stops? Due to some traffic issues the #14 bus stop had moved.

Cozy area, beautiful lounge and friendly staff!

The river is right outside, great for a morning run or an evening stroll! And there's a lovely cafe next door too.

The location with a view of the canal. Big room and very comfortable bed. The tv was difficult to use and we had to ask for help twice. The room was not cleaned for the 3 days we were there but they did empty the rubbish and gave us fresh towels when we asked for them.
