Kindness Hotel -Taitung

The facility didn’t have heat! It’s NOT comfortable at all.

Good meals, parking, good location, and great service

Excellent service and very attentive staff. The food was also delicious, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel! Location is a bit far from the central area if no car but not a big issue

The breakfast and supper spread was exceptional. The yam porridge was very good. There were also washing machines which we could do our laundry. Nothing.

Best front-desk device that cares for you, your car, and your stay. Amazing complimentary breakfast and dinner. Great location in town which is quiet, and the rooms are always luxurious. None.

First impression was that the hotel was really old because of the dated design, but actually, everything is really clean and new. The room size was good and bathroom was huge, but without bathtub. Instead there is a massage shower panel. There is an outer glass door for each room so sound insulation was really great. There were 8 washers and 8 dryers and detergent provided (completely free) and staff helped to restart the dryer in case it was not completely dry and you have not collected your laundry. Snacks, tea and coffee and ice-cream was provided in the lounge for free. The tea bags provided is from a really famous tea company in Taiwan, and there are about 8 different teas to choose from. Breakfast and supper provided was good quality and really tasty, tasted better than a lot of food sold outside. The tea eggs was especially good, better than the famous one in Sun Moon Lake. The food was so good that on the 2nd night, we deliberately had a very light dinner so we can enjoy the supper fully. Service standard really surpassed our expectations. I smelled smoke one night on my floor and alerted the front desk, and it was taken care of immediately. Staff working at the restaurant was very helpful and knowledgable and helped with food recommendations. Have absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel. My family's favorite out of all the hotels we stayed in for our 11 days Taiwan holiday. They should probably update the pictures on booking.com coz' the pics don't look very good and I was apprehensive about booking initially when looking at the pictures. The room was actually very comfortable and way better than it looked in the pictures.

Quiet residential area. The hotel building looked rather classy compared with other 3 Kindness hotels we stayed in around Taiwan. Our high floor room had a good open view and was well maintained given the age of the premises. Dining room staff mostly courteous, working very hard. Jia Jia Lin friendly and helpful with information regarding snacks available nearby. Nice ground floor area for free hot/cold drinks and snacks. In there, guests could also eat their take away food bought from shops. Breakfast and supper were provided. Though dishes mostly Taiwanese, the croissants were surprisingly crunchy. Great to see sufficient washing machines and dryers in the free self-service laundry room. Far from the city centre and Train station. long wait for taxis for outbound trips from the hotel. One way costs TW$185 to 200, pending on the driver. Two taxi drivers we used were unhelpful and unethical. On our checkout day 13/11/23, the receptionist called a taxi around 10:30am. After getting on Taxi #925 P9, the driver (廖X昇 displayed on the ID in the car) told us to pay a higher fare pre-set by him. He insisted that the charge was not by metre but by what the hotel agreed with him when the taxi was called. As it was too late to find another taxi by then we had to compromise. That guy did not even help us (elderlies) loading luggage like other drivers do. What a bad apple in Taitung tourism! Not impressed! If the hotel had agreed a particular fare with the taxi driver, why were we not informed beforehand? Housekeeping missed making up our room half the time. Front Desk said guests must hand in the room keys when leaving the premises so that they could inform cleaners to make up rooms. A very strange and inconvenient practice! Since Housekeeping finished at 3PM we put the 'Please Make Up Room' sign before leaving around midday. Unfortunately, no one took notice of that only because we did not hand in room keys! Dining room on 2nd floor was jam-packed during peak hours for breakfast and supper. Dishes mostly unchanged throughout our 4 nights stay. Boring. Some trays were refilled with lesser selections for late comers. Room-rate on the weekend was very high, not matched by the service when staff were overwhelmed by crowded guests. Some hotels serve special dishes for breakfast on weekends but this one did not.

Everything. This is really a perfect hotel to stay in Taitung. The staff are very hospitable and knowledgeable. Breakfast and dinner is really good. Will definitely book this hotel again. Nothing
