There are 2 buildings, one is for western bed and the other is for japanese bed. I and my friends didn't sleep in the same building.

Everything was very good only disappointed that I could not have western bed. The rest was terrific.

There are hardly any vegetarian options in the hotel's restaurants, so we preferred to eat out. Also, keep in mind that the hotel is very Western-style.

In a quiet location but within easy reach of attractions. Great facilities in the hotel and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Nothing to add here!

Front desk Staff & housekeepers were really nice. They had a nice looking breakfast buffet, we peeked in on it but did not have time to eat there. Property has a pretty large store on property, a bar with food that is open later than dinner buffet and a shuttle to and from the train station however it's on their timing not yours. They have massage services downstairs and in room and also a pretty nice public onsen if you enjoy those. First time with a Japanese room where they come and change the table out to futon beds at 7pm which were not the thickness I thought they would be so it was like we were sleeping on a hard floor. Only booked this room because it has the in-room open air tub. Would not choose Japanese room again, body just not built or flexible enough for living that low to the ground. Getting a massage appt was pretty frustrating. You can't go to front desk until the day of to request and not until after 3 or 4 pm????

Loved the location--a few min walk from the train station in the opposite direction of the old town area (so a bit off the beaten path). Still it was an easy 10-15 min walk to the town's shops, restaurants, cultural attractions--so many things to do within walking distance! The room was large, spacious, loved the large window with views of the snow-covered Alps! The L-shaped sofa was perfect for relaxing, writing, and taking in the scenery. So nice! Great large bed, clean, upscale. We were in the newer modern wing of hotel complex and ironically didn't use the onsens or any of the several restaurants on site. We did shop in the large souvenir store, finding lots of nicely crafted items for gifts. Impeccable service, amenities. Not applicable--we liked everything about this place!

The facilities are great, especially the two (!) onsens. We had a traditional Japanese room with is an experience. The location is not great - 20 minutes walk from Takayama center. They have a shuttle but not enough and only during daytime. Also, the Japanese room with futon beds was not super comfy and caused my some back pains, but I think it’s part of the concept of sleeping on futon beds…

Great onsen choices for both buildings of the hotel. Breakfast has good range of selection and a spacious dining area good for both family or couple dining. The check-out time for two hotel buildings are different so made my friend and me a bit confusing when double checking it. Not a big deal but definitely may affect the time arrangement especially when you wanna do morning onsen session together with breakfast arrangement.

Location and the shuttle service to train station. The variety of breakfast options available at the buffet. Also the onsen provided to the guests Hotel staff at the restaurant are not friendly at all to the guests who are not Japanese. They don’t smile and don’t try to clear out the food plates for us even though they see them at our table. They keep ignoring us. If you are not welcome tourists, you should not have advertised your place to other nationalities ?. We are not begging for your hospitality but we pay for it!!

Room and hotel look very dated. They did not stock up the onsen with towels . Too far to walk to old town Takayama. The walk was not very scenic .
