Room was fantastic and we were upgraded to a suite which was beyond our expectation. Breakfast was great and offered a variety of food but the international selection, I think was ok only. Location wise was quite good and a short walk from the subway. It was also next to a shopping mall which had a number of eateries and shops. However it seem business was not vey good during the period of our stay. Nil

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Shangri-La Hotel in Tianjin, and it was an unforgettable experience in every way. The hotel truly stands out for its attention to detail, luxurious accommodations, and world-class service. I stayed in one of the hotel’s suites, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The suite was incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished, and provided breathtaking views of the Hai River and Tianjin’s skyline. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the luxurious bathroom, was designed with comfort and elegance in mind. The suite also featured modern amenities that made my stay both comfortable and convenient. One of the true highlights of staying in a suite at the Shangri-La Tianjin is the access to the exclusive Horizon Club. This private space offers an oasis of calm and relaxation. Whether for a quiet breakfast, afternoon tea, or evening cocktails, the Horizon Club provides a peaceful and elegant setting to unwind. The personalized service in this lounge was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to make every moment special. The dining experience at the Shangri-La Tianjin is equally impressive. I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, which is renowned for its original Beijing duck. The quality and authenticity of the dish were outstanding, rivaling even some of the most famous restaurants in Beijing. The crisp skin and tender, flavorful meat were simply perfection, and the presentation was equally stunning. The restaurant's other offerings were also of the highest standard, with a wide variety of dishes to suit any palate. Throughout my stay, the service was impeccable. From the moment I checked in until the time I left, every member of the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. It’s clear that the Shangri-La Tianjin is committed to providing a five-star experience in every aspect, and they certainly exceeded my expectations.

Club lounge was very comfortable with great views. Beds were also very comfortable. The men’s sauna area had a nice resting area. The breakfast was extensive on level 1. The housekeeping missed items of trash left untouched for 2 days that should have been picked up if they looked just a little beyond the immediate walk path around the bed. Didn’t instill confidence in the way they turn over rooms between guests. Men’s spa area smelled strongly of mildew. The hot tub also had a slimey build up on the tiles under the water. They don’t seem to regulate the smoking area closely so the whole room smelled of cigarette smoke.

All services are over by 11 except the room service, so not much to do by the night. And tennis courts were like ruins, that was the only reason I booked for this hotel and it was quite disappointing to see a 5-star franchise has these neglected facilities.
