City Hotel Southern Cross

The internet was terrible.

The hotel was located right next to a station (2 mins walk from Shin-Okubo station), and had such lovely staff. They spoke only Japanese which was difficult to communicate with at first (as we did not know enough of the language), but this prompted us to learn some phrases! The service was lovely, and the room itself was so spacious for the cheap price we paid. We enjoyed our stay here so so much. Nothing. Everything was genuinely so good that I have nothing bad to say. The price, the cleanliness, the space-size, the friendly staff- everything was up to standard.

Actually rooms are bigger than any others. They do not speak or understand english. It is really hard to communicate. They do not give even 1 bottle of water daily. Room was cold. It was really hard to settle in the room because of communication problem.

absolutely nothing cigarrete smell was impregnated EVERYWEHRE. from the lobby to the elevator to the room. The room bed was mainly wood and sheet, bed was not freshly done. HAd to leave the hotel and not stay the night. The smell was so f bad. Booked another hotel and wasited the money from this one.

Heads up that the reception staff don't speak English, making it a bit difficult to communicate even with Google Translate, but they were always very kind regardless. Room was quite small but good for budget travel if that's what you're looking for. The bed wasn't the comfiest but did the job.

It is only few steps to Shin Okubo train station, it is a little bigger to Tokyo standard room size, bathroom is spacious. Lots of convenient stores and restaurant around. It is located in Tokyo Koreatown. Don’t expect a lobby for this hotel. You will need better pillows or request 2 pillows per person, the one that was given was soft pillow(1) per person. You will need google translate to be able to communicate with the hotel receptionist.

The staff were very kind even though they couldn't communicate in English. The location was very close to Shinjuku so any night activities are great for its' location. The room we stayed in was old and filled with humidity (we had to ventilate or turn on the AC constantly). The windows were thin so you could constantly hear loud drunk people passing by at night and the train passing by. The fact that you have to pay for the fridge in the room was an incovenience.

The hotel is right behind Shin-Okubo station that makes this hotel just 3 stations away from Shibuya.

Amazing room

A comfortable boutique hotel in a great location in shinjuku. A short walk to the train station and heaps of food and bars on your door step... I would stay again

The bathroom was better than we expected and they had pretty nice amenities that we were also not expecting to have. This was an emergency last-minute reservation, due to another hotel canceling on us, and they quickly replied to my messages even after midnight to ensure everything was alright. The room is pretty small, not ideal for big luggage, but I don't think the usual public for this hotel will be carrying that much. As I mentioned before, we ended up here by "accident" and it served its purpose for us. The toilet is fairly old, with no bidet or fancy options, It was clean, but it lacked when compared to others.

Super close to Metro and restaurant near Hotel. Receptionist is very helpful. The staff cannot speak English but it is no problem with Google translate assistance. It is still a little smell in corridor.
