Hotel Grillo Verde

Great staff and very clean hotel. Nothing

Bathroom was not well laid out. Bidet not fixed to the floor, a disabled family member fell off the bidet because it moved and tilted, and bumped her head on the floor. Reported it to staff who seemed indifferent to the incident. It took 2 of us to lift our family member off the floor and into the wheelchair. However, the bidet was fixed that same day. Staff very unfriendly, made us feel unwelcomed and an inconvenience. We had a meal in the hotel one evening. We were recommended streak which was very tough and not edible, which was sent back but we were still charged for. .

Clean room, delicious breakfast, kind staff. It’s located within a 3 minute walk away from the train station, so you can visit all the key attractions in the area without a car (pompeii, ercolano, oplontis, vesuvio…) and Napoli too, the train tickets from Torre Annunziata Centrale are quite affordable (about 2 or 3€).

Close vicinity of the hotel was very busy, noisy and dirty. The hotel took my id for the time of the stay (unacceptable) but the receptionist could hardly talk english so I had no other option. During checkout there was nobody around, and since I was in a hurry, I forgot the id, which the hotel did not even notice.

Breakfast is classic Italian sugary fare but cook/waitress brought whatever you asked for - eggs, prosciutto, tomatoes, etc. We stayed in Grillo Verde as a family almost 25 years ago to be close to Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Amalfi Coast. Grillo Verde was and is a classic hotel of the old style in terms of decor, towels, service. We were pleased that the same family continues to run it. Fewer mosquitoes. Horrific traffic on the roads. Also, Torre Annunziata is a rather gritty and unattractive town. Nonetheless we found locals to be friendly and very helpful.

Clean, air conditioning, great showers, close to transport routes. Friendly staff. Great choice of breakfast. Nothing.

The ceiling fluorescent bulb would not turn off completely, so I had to sleep with the room half-lighted. The window faced a hallway with chairs where people sat to talk until late. It was difficult to sleep like that. The buffet breakfast was all cold, individually wrapped pastries or toasted bread, except for coffee. The air conditioner did not allow me to change the temperature below 24 degrees Celsius.

That was the only hotel in the neighbourhood which was 1 km away from Pompeii and the train station The receptionist was not friendly nor helpful, the breakfast was cheap and not fresh, the restaurant was awful and the neighbourhood was dirty and sketchy.

No parking, things broken in room, terrible breakfast. Unfriendly staff. Bad area.. food in fridge from last guest.

Close to the train station good prepared bathroom. Bad lamps in the corridor and in the bathroom, very few restaurants around.

Exceptional

Lovely hotel, very, very clean. Room was huge. Well presented. Right on a roundabout but couldn’t hear any noise - good insulation. Great restaurant, excellent serving sizes and not expensive. Good location with restaurants, cafes and supermarkets all within about 200m. Verandah was huge and I would only suggest the hosts perhaps put a little table and chair out there for sitting. No negative.

There was a restaurant at the hotel. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The beds were rather hard.
