Beautiful property with astounding view of Denali (weather permitting). No restaurants or stores nearby, but the hotel restaurants are very good. We liked that it was away from commercialized tourist areas. Very friendly staff.
-
No way to regulate the room temperature. Was hot. The grounds were great and the views of Mt Denali fantastic!!!
-
Overall we loved the property. Being from the South we were expecting air conditioning in the rooms. The rooms were rather hot in the afternoon and it took a while to cool down with the windows open. And at night had to run the ceiling fan with windows open to stay cool. But we still enjoyed our stay in this beautiful area.

Great place to stay. Would be nice to have more clothes washers, especially if you tend to host people coming from cruises.
-
The hotel had a beautiful view, and we really enjoyed relaxing on the deck. Unfortunately, the bathroom in our room was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly before our arrival. With better attention to cleanliness, this could have been a great stay.
-
Wonderful property with lots to do. Views of Denali are amazing when it's visible. Easy 1.5 hour drive from Denali National Park and not far from Talkeetna.
-
The shuttle from building to building was great. Food was good. The main lodge and scenery is beautiful. Overall, the rooms need a little refreshing and the staff was not friendly.

We ate three meals there and all three were less than average. The Halibut was extremely overcooked and cold. When I told my waiter he just apologized and left the table. My husband ask for his Salmon medium and it too was well done and cold. At breakfast I ordered the veggie scramble and the eggs were running cold and had almost no veggies in no it. If this is a sample of the food you get on a Princess Cruise I will stay clear of them.

The property is VERY spread out, rooms a bit dated, and there is only one water filler at the main lodge (which can be quite a distance from your room). Local hiking trails can be accessed and there are a couple of restaurant options, but no general market on premise or nearby and no refrigerators in the rooms,so access to food/shopping options is very restricted. No pool, hot tub or sauna either. Very quiet and located in the trees - so if you're looking for quiet and remote could be the right place.

Great views and a well maintained hotel.

The lodge is beautiful, staff are helpful, the grounds are gorgeous…the individual buildings housing the rooms are spaced out and it can be a bit of a walk to get from your room to the lodge but a shuttle service is available. The rooms are on the smaller side and a bit older but adequate and clean.

clean room.
-
Amazing view of Denali! Food was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly.
-
Friendly staff, clean, peaceful property. A little piece of heaven with idyllic views of Denali. We were not a part of the Princess Cruise tours. We stayed individually and would absolutely come back again.
-
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone staying there.

Restaurants were good and service was excellent. Hotel and rooms are very dated, and rooms have no air condition, typically not a problem, however the weather was unseasonably warm, requested a room fan and used the ceiling fan. Mark was a great server!
-
Improved staffing in the restaurant areas. Service at McKinley was not as effective and accommodating as the cruise ships. Almost a stark contrast.
-
Location is amazing and the property amenities are really good

The view from the main deck was absolutely incredible, but none of the rooms have a view. The staff are friendly, but there’s only so much they can do because the place is set up to extract as much profit from each guest as possible. Even refilling your own coffee mug costs $4.75. The rooms and food are pretty mediocre. Also there’s no AC, and it got very warm in our room.
