My Husband wrote: „Basil Fawlty is alive and kicking! During our stay, my wife fell headfirst down steep steps into the unlit ski locker that happened to be in a cellar (we were not informed or told about it). Miraculously, barring some nasty cuts and several large bruises, she was not seriously hurt. We let the hotel manager/owner know about the fall and he immediately got angry and made clear that he did not care. For the next 20 minutes or so, as we sat down to dinner, he repeatedly came over to say it was our fault. We explained we were not seeking to place blame, just pointing out a risk that that on a dark evening, the sign is difficult to read, it’s unexpected for new guests to find steps into a ski locker room direct from the outdoor pavement and once you open the ski locker doors the light did not switch on immediately. We were worried that one day someone could seriously get hurt. The manager then got really angry and demanded we leave the hotel. We didn’t want to do this as my wife was in pain and shock after a big fall and we had prepaid. At which point the manager told my wife that she had fallen because she was a ‘stupid foreigner and had no brain’. At no point did the owner did ask if my wife was ok, he did not offer any plasters to cover her cuts and he simply repeated that he did not care. Not only we were in a horrible shock after a nasty fall, the manager added extra stress with his repeated verbal attacks. After 20 minutes of verbal attacks and verbal abuse, we had no choice but to leave the restaurant and find a different place to eat despite the fact that my wife was in pain after the nasty fall down unlit stairs. Several people that witnessed this outburst in the restaurant (all complete strangers to us) approached us afterwards to say that they were shocked and appalled by the manager’s behaviour and comments.

Great staff, very helpful. Nice sauna / spa area - not to big but very functional. You can ski actually on the day you leave and can than have a shower in the afternoon - I found that a extemelly nice option. Good breakfast and decent restaurant.

Excellent breakfast, wellness (sauna) included, however a bit small (max 5 people).

We were treated like special guests by all of the kind and friendly staff, who really go out of their way to make sure you are fine. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The room was perfect: beautiful wood interiors, very comfortable bed (very), space for taking off wet ski clothes, even a little balcony - and, of course, the mountains are just outside your window. The fact that the skibus (free) stops in front of the hotel was a big bonus - and there is also plenty of parking. We liked everything, but a suggestion would be the addition of USB and USB-C charging points in the rooms.

Hotel is designed for skiers. The bus station to the cable cars is just in front of the hotel Additional services, such as sauna in the afternoon, yoga room were available

Charming, family style hotel with an excellent staff. The ski bus stops in front of the hotel. There is ample parking. The rooms are simple and classic Tyrol style. The hotel has a heated drying room for ski equipment in the basement. The hotel has a warm feeling and is filled with books that visitors can read and take if they leave another. The restaurant is large, yet warm with the traditional Tyrollean style wood decor. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the dinner menu did not disappoint. We opted to get dinner in the hotel restaurant most evenings. Half-board is an option. Like many European hotels, the double bed/matrimonial bed (queen) is really two single beds put together. Would be nice for couples to have the option of a sheet or insert to cover the gap between the two beds.

It was a great pleasure to stay in hotel Standlhof founded by the old George Ebenharter-Putz and now run by his descendants. This hotel breathed hospitality in every detail of our stay. Books are everywhere, even in the sauna and in the hallways which gives the hotel a homy atmosphere. There is also a nice library type family room where you will find drinks, games and again a lot of books. Large maps of the skiing area are on the wall, which is comfortable and your clothes are being dried after a day of skiing. Staff is super friendly and willing to go out of their way to answer all your questions. Breakfast buffet is elaborate with homemade cakes and marmelades. Also you can pack your own lunch if you like to bring some into the mountains. The diner menu is typical Austrian with a variety of food, enough for the week. Fantastic place!

The Hotel felt like a big family home, very warm and inviting, and is in a beautiful area. The owners Tom & Andrea, were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Tom provided a wonderful overview of the area and information on hikes and attractions. The restaurant was fabulous and the staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. It was so lovely, we stayed a 2nd day, and would have stayed longer if time had permitted.
