Everyone is doing a great job. They just need more staff.

The room was great

Housekeeping did not stop in to clean the first day of our stay. I called the front desk the following day to request housekeeping and the front desk said the room would be cleaned. We got back to the room and nothing was cleaned, beds were not made. This repeated for the entire four days of our stay-I’d call front desk and they promised the room would be cleaned and the room was not cleaned when we got back in the evening. It was very frustrating to have service promised on a daily basis with no follow through. As it was, the stay was especially overpriced as it was a busy time on campus but we definitely felt like we overpaid by the absolute absence of housekeeping, made beds, fresh towels and refreshed coffee. Additionally, the soap dispensers were loosely installed to the wall in the bathroom and the dispensers ended up coming out of the wall.

Beds, pillows, and towels were of excellent quality. So was the coffee. The pool was a great amenity and the area clean and well-kept with beach towels provided. The location was excellent, within walking distance of the campus and also shops, food, and drinks. The hotel is a historic building so very charming with a cozy bar and also a restaurant on the premises. There was microwaveable food for sale but only one microwave available for the entire hotel. You had to take the food up to your room, put in the water, come back down, and if it was in use you had to go back to yiur room and come back down to check again. And the microwave still might not be free. More microwaves needed and water provided at the site of purchase.

The decor is lovely and rooms are very comfortable. The location is also great. The only thing I would say is the amazing bar is so lovely, but the bar stools are WAY too low. Please, some new bar stools at the right height!

Loved this historic hotel! Very unique and beautiful. Designed originally by local architect Joseph W. Royer in the Tudor Revival style and named in his honor after an extensive multi-year renovation. Room was very nice and clean. Bed and pillows were super comfy. There is a restaurant on site, but I did not eat there so can't comment on that. Nice bar and lounge area. Close to UIUC campus. Overall great stay and would highly recommend.

Hôtel, service and staff were wonderful

We left our first hotel due to safety concerns and got a room here and we are so glad we did. The guy checking us in was wonderful to work with and the room was fresh, clean and comfortable. Great night sleep! Will stay again if in town.

Would definitely stay here again. Quiet, charming, with an excellent restaurant. Bed was super comfortable, we both slept very well after a long convention weekend. Will check availability here first next time we're in the area.

A classic old-world hotel with a surprisingly up-to-date refresh. Spectacular to find this among the dorms and cornfields.

Need to do better with tv channels

Beautiful hotel. Love the old style. Fantastic places to sit and relax. Location is great. Room was modern and clean. I think my room was right above the kitchen. Overwhelming food smell in the hallway. Luckily the room didn’t smell that way. I’m sure it’s hard to control that in an old hotel, but it might deter me from staying again. Otherwise I loved it!

Didn't like: (1) sink was clogged in my room (2) while the restaurant is open for breakfast, it is understaffed. Even though it will look empty, there will be a wait. The server was pretty rushed and, therefore, not very attentive. If you're planning to have breakfast and be somewhere, you may want to rethink where you eat. There are other places nearby outside the hotel too, but it is a net inconvenience. THIRD time staying this month at a Hilton property with shorthanded breakfast crew. Hmm.
