Kapai Hostel

Big hostel with lots of common areas, kitchen, bathrooms, terrace. I've stayed at the campervan and it was good for a night, there is a sitting area outside and you get privacy, although you have to go a long way to get to the bathrooms at night. Is just in front on the river, the view from the terrace is amazing, and there's a very friendly cat. Please change the mattress on the campervan. There could be a more noticeable sign, is not that easy to find the hostel on the first time.

+ Perfect location in 5 minutes walking from the bus terminal + Clean and well-equipped kitchen (potter with permanent hot water, toaster, free tea) + Electric heater inside the “casa móvil” and possibility to take additional blanket + Big space for luggage under the bed - Bed linen wasn’t clean and fresh

The dorms were the best i've seen, really large and comfy. It was like staying in a single room. I think it would be useful to keep some chairs or else in the bathroom to hold things

Staff helpful, location good. Had my own little quarter spot as a room. There were 2 kitchens As usual in hostels, there's not a hook to hang your towel In bed #1 that could be accommodated on wall or by closet

The place is okay nothing special but fits all the needs. I liked the separated beds with a lot of space to store and more privacy Location is a bit far from the center

Very clean, nice staff, well equipped kitchen, quite nice common area, they provide you with a lock for the locker. The capsule offers a lot of privacy. Nice location close to the waterfront & bus terminal. The capsule makes a lot of noise when moving around. You could feel the springs in the mattress. Very little storage space in the dorm room. Already on the pricier side for a hostel, on top of that you need to pay extra for a lot of things like luggage storage and using the facilities after check out. This was definitely a first for me, in most other places I wouldn't even have to ask for it as it's offered as something self-evident. Leaves a bit of a bitter aftertaste and doesn't exactly lead to good vibes in the hostel. It's a pity because I think with a bit more hospitality it really has the potentail to be a great hostel.

Good rooms A hostel that tries to squeeze every single penny out of you. Annoying! 1. Only hostel in town, they take advantage of it and start with a pretty high standard rate 2. The charge for EVERY single thing extra. Late check-out, ok understandable. But also early check-in, which is already poor. But then the worst: luggage storage: 3k, kitchen use after checkout: 4k. What next? Charge me for wifi? Water? Electricity? It just makes you feel like a damn cash cow. No hospitality vibes whatsoever. 3. Try to charge the VAT for Chileans for non Chileans. Only after discussion I did not need to pay that. You know, how it works, don't try to cheat on me. 4. After some time I got the message they wanted to mark me as a no-show in booking. I assume in order to just not pay the fee to booking. I protested, then they didn't. Shady!

Close to the river Staff were pleasant Informed on check in that one of the capsules were not available and had to be moved into a different room. Communal areas and bathrooms were dirty with mould on the ceiling in the lounge area

Large well equipped kitchen, dining, lounge area Some staff understood basic English. Location near complex of bus terminal, shopping centre and food court. No road noise.. Best price for laundry Booked room with private bath. The toilet and shower were in a lockable room several metres away. NO PRIVATE WASH BASIN ,LAVABO! En suite or separate.. Other " private" Banos had lavabo in their separate bano. Avoid unit #2.

Pleasant

Great location in Valdivia. You can walk to most of the tourist attractions. The price and room it was not the same one that the one that I originally chose but at the end it was not a big difference.

The bathroom was very clean and also the kitchen There was a very bad smell inside the property. Mixed with the insence was really disgusting ?. When I asked for keep my luggage there after check out, they could do it but they said to me they weren’t responsible for loss. What kind of service is that? Completely useless

Rigid hostel policy - wanted to keep a bag for 2 hours before check-in but they have a charge for it. Can't wait in the common room too.

Great place close to the river. It has 2 very clean kitchens and relax vibe.
