Great room above a nice restaurant and bar.

Restaurant food and staff were great, very friendly. Reasonably quiet, and peaceful. Coffee was decent. Hotel policy says no pets, but the hotel cat was in the hallway one morning, leaving the smell of urine near the front stairs. (We love cats, btw, but the smell was a bit much.) Also, the room had only one chair, and it was wood dining room chair. Not very comfortable. The desk didn't have a chair, nor much else. Room was small. Also, the hot water in shower and sink was scalding hot. We notified owner, who said the water heater was new. It was the same the next day.

The Valley Ford Hotel is located on Route 1 in tiny Valley Ford. Though Valley Ford is basically two blocks long, it has a Post Office, a Volunteer Fire Department, three (4?) cafes including the Valley Ford Hotel's Rockers which has lots of Cajun fare. A cheese factory open Wednesday-Sunday which also sells gift items, bakery goods, etc. There's also a great local market for all your needs. The location was perfect for our plans/event. While there are two other hotels in the area,, this is the only one located in Valley Ford. The two others offer more traditional & modern amenities, are more expensive and farther down Route 1 one towards and one in Bodega Bay. This is not a resort. It is a lovely little hotel which has given a nod to its roots and that is reflected in its thoughtful selection of furnishings. It is very quiet and has a really helpful and friendly staff. I appreciated having good coffee & pitchers of water available in the room. Another thing I loved was having an overhead fan and a code door entry. Perfect! There's a very good bar & restaurant/patio on site. Ample (free!) parking on site. If you enjoy historic and quaint towns in rural Sonoma County then you should enjoy staying in this charming little hotel. The shower in our room could use a non skid mat. It also has a pull out knob (fine but good to know that.) The phone charged best in the bathroom using the GFI safety outlet. I cannot think of anything else I would want to change!

Very clean and well maintained Not sound proofed so sometimes you can hear the neighbors but not a deal breaker

Note the limited ADA accessibility

Nicely decorated spacious room with large bathroom. Bar and restaurant below served by very friendly staff who serves delicious food. The bed was too soft for my husband liking.

The hotel has very cozy and clean rooms. The hotel is advertised with a restaurant/bar open for lunch and dinner. It isn’t and there were no other alternatives serving dinner that evening in town. DO NOT rely on this place for dinner.

The place is super old. No TV’s in rooms, the bathroom was awful. Linoleum coming up by base of toilet and close to the front and back wall. Super small bathrooms and toilets don’t work well. There’s not much privacy except a door. Cute town and area but we are NEVER going back. Staff is pretty much absent. No phones in the room either. Spent way too much money here and hoping no one else does. They need upgrades before they let people stay here. Place is just too old.

This is a great place to stay if you are just going for a night and a place to crash. My son and I were in the area paddleboardin.

Wonderful place but the walls are thin and my neighbors woke me up talking loudly at 7am.

Scenery and location Uncomfortable bed, SUPER tiny slippery shower.
