The room was very clean and comfortable. One small observation, although we booked a private a suite, when we entered we found it has a connecting room which is assured to be locked. However, it was not sound proof! The people in the reception was very friendly. We were amazed by Taj's effort of preserving the ancient handicraft tradition of Varanasi. The wooden toy shop is a must visit for the connoisseur of arts. The dining area has fly problems - we indicated it several times. A staff in charge of the morning buffet (Mandiraji) behaved quite rudely. We ordered for two sunny side eggs and it took more than 30 minutes to reach in spite of several reminders.

Ambiance, service and hospitality. Sometimes staff was very busy. For room service and housekeeping they had to be reminded.

The food was not up to the mark & despite the 5 star or 7 star hotel we experienced a lot of wild mosquitoes bites during our whole stay. Secondly, the Varanasi Junction BSB railway station is hardly 01 Km from the hotel but the hotel had got no policy for a free of cost pickup & drop from there itself which was very very disappointing & frustrating.

Taj Ganges Varanasi provides impeccable first class service in hospitality. Every space throughout the hotel is clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Large bouquets of fresh flowers adorned the lobby. The food provided at the in house restaurant, "Chowk", is fantastic. We ate at the buffet thrice per day. We utilized the spa, and highly recommend their Ayurvedic massage therapist. Dry cleaning and laundry services are excellent. Most importantly, EVERY member of the staff is courteous, kind and helpful. We were grateful to be located some distance away from the hustle/bustle, traffic and chaos which you find closer to the ghats. We highly recommend this hotel (and franchise), and won't hesitate to return. No complaints.
