This Pensione looks good from afar. Its right on the front by the Doges palace/Vaporetti/Aguilana stop. The concierge man was the nicest person there. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure in shower was good. Towels and sheets were good. Where to start? As soon as you enter you realize this is not a great place. No elevator but the person who was "always around to help" wasn't there so you lug up your bags to the floor. Rooms are in a time warp. Small & dark...pull out bed was like a coffin. Wifi and TV sporadic. Electric sockets not plentiful. AC doesnt work until summer so it's a lie that it has AC...you have to sweat like a pig and open windows. Asked for a fan told to come back next morning. That does you some good doesn't it? Breakfast was bizarre. It's not a buffet and it's not good. Cheapest food possible. One day you get an egg, next day fruit...Plates are slammed down in front of you by staff who have mastered the ability not to look you in the eye or come near if you have a question. I am fed up of being trapped into reservations where you cannot leave if you don't think it's up to standard. Both the hotel and booking.com facilitate this and it gives the hotel zero impetus to deliver. Its like the staff know this ...You have an issue, you complain. They do nothing if you leave you've to pay anyway.....its just not fair when you spend your hard earned money this way. This is not value for money at all. Spend $50 more a night on a nicer place.

Slightly old smell in the room but we are in Venice absolutely beautiful view of grand canal and breakfast was super nice with great views

Directly across from water bus stop and water taxi stop. The room was wonderful. Everyone was helpful and kind. It was nice to have breakfast downstairs before starting the day.

Friendly staff; good location for vaporetto; free breakfast There were only two straight-back chairs in the room; a comfortable chair would have helped.
