The Companion Vienna

Hotel had just opened when we booked, and with the provided offers at the time, we hit a really good value. My only issue was lack of manual control of the A/C. The only options are a range of +3C to -3C degrees for the room AC unit, without any flow rate options. In the middle of a Viennese heatwave, this was not ideal...

The property is well appointed. Very modern. Was pleasantly satisfied. The towels were amazing!

I had a great stay at The Companion Vienna and would definitely stay there again. The location is excellent—it’s just a short walk from one of Vienna’s main train stations, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere in the city or beyond. It’s also close to a lively central street with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés, and there’s a grocery store just around the corner, which was very convenient. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The room was comfortable and offered great value for the price. The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the free Wi-Fi worked well. The décor is a bit outdated, and the shower is located on the side of the room rather than in a separate bathroom, which may not appeal to everyone.

The decor was beautiful! It’s very close to the metro stop, but the location didn’t feel as safe as staying closer to the center. There are a lot of homeless people and some other questionable groups hanging out right outside the hotel across the street. As a solo traveling woman, I felt a bit unsafe at times late in the night going back to my hotel.

Nice design and aesthetic. Great location for West train station. Street side rooms very noisy. Even on 5th floor. Terrible pillows with zero neck support. No mobile phone service in room. Substance and a sound sleep matter more to me than design.

The room was nicely designed and the shampoo and shower gel were amazing. Also the coffee machine in the room was great. I loved the breakfast but I expected it to be a little bigger. The selection of bread was quite low for a German speaking country. Also there was no space to put the shampoo in the shower except for the floor. But that's just complaining on a really high level.

Fantastic location, service-oriented staff, comfortable room, and delicious breakfast all wrapped in a beautifully designed space. If I had to nitpick, the bathroom mirror had the most annoying blue glowing capacitive touch button which was glowing all night. I also wish the AC was not blowing onto the bed.

Conveniently located next to public transport as well as airport bus. Clean, modern rooms and cozy lobby.

Everything - location, very welcoming and friendly staff, sparkling clean, amenities were great! Toilet is separate from bathroom. At least a sink in the same corner of the toilet would be nicer.

Old building remodeled recently. Employees were all well spoken and managed several languages. The room we got, matters was on the floor. Ideal for a young couple, but the rate was good so no complains here (o: Also, the need to do something about drop off - check in space.

The location is a bit rough. We had people asking us for food right outside the hotel next to the Westbahnhof station on two occasions.

The Companion is a vibe, it’s tastefully decorated, the room is comfy, the staff is very attentive and will make sure you have everything you need for a wonderful stay. It’s located few blocks from Neubau which is a cool neighborhood in Vienna, and just steps from the metro and tram. Highly recommend!

Cleanness, efficient staff Nothing to point out

The breakfast was excellent, with great coffee and just the right selection of fresh, tasty food to start the day. Our only minor suggestion for improvement would be the towel hooks, which could be more practical. Other than that, everything was perfect, and we would happily stay here again.

It is super clear .. staff are professional friendly and amazing .. we always felt welcomed from the moment we enter the hotel .. reception staff are amazing and lovely .. restaurant staff are very nice and helpful and we felt VIP all the time.. the lady who makes the coffee is a prof barista .. the design is so modern .. cleaning of rooms is perfect .. AC was good .. comfort beds .. loved the towels .. Thank you for the amazing stay .. quite rooms with privacy .. very close by public transportation .. great food options near by .. mall just few meters away .. definitely value for money .. will stay again for sure .. Thank you for the unforgettable memories
