    Perfect, the staffs were amazing

Note: as of June 2026 they are working on the exterior and it’s very loud in some rooms - ask about this at check in. It was loud for us but they comped us the valet which appeased us. Note for hotel: more towel hangers are desperately needed. Consider also putting a chair in the room - the large space is great but there’s nowhere to sit except the beds.

The interior art deco decor is phenomenal. Bar and restaurant amazing.

    Wonderful stay

Clean room & accessible to amenities

While a renovated property, 50 percent of staff interactions were not just poor - they were clear detractors. Example, when asking for help with our bags at check in - we were told “bell staff is over there, just get their attention and they can help you”. We do not plan to return.

Super friendly staff and excellent location

A friend and I booked a junior suite. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi bathtub in the room didn’t work properly. The jets barely worked and the bubbles didn’t work at all. The first time we used the tube, we were notified there was a leak. Requiring us to move to a new room. Fortunately, they upgraded us to a bigger room; however, the AC in that room was malfunctioning, and there was an incessant high-pitched noise that disturbed our stay. Overall the pros of this place doesn’t outweigh the cons for me to book here again.

Overall nice hotel and very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. I would love to see more done with pool and more amenities. Overall excellent hotel .

The whole place was under construction. We purposely booked this hotel for the pool and it wasn't available. The staff at check in were rude, couldn't find our booking and told me to go away and fix the problem myself.

The rooms were very spacious and the gym was well equipped. There was a nice outdoor pool that we did not use. This hotel welcomes dogs, which would have been okay if the small dog on our floor hadn't been so loud. It scratched at the door and barked loudly and incessantly every afternoon while its owner was out doing other things. The barking was loudly audible at the other end of the hallway. The staff tried to contact the owner of the dog and left messages, but she continued to leave her small dog alone and barking in her room. They offered to change our rooms to another floor but the dog calmed down at night when its owner returned. We really liked the hotel but if you need quiet during the day, stay somewhere else.

Excellent location. Wonderful staff. Large comfortable rooms. Very nice bar. Would definitely stay there again.

Great size room with fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Two big queen size beds which were very comfy. Great location near to Dupont Circle with all the amenities and places to visit near by. 4 minutes walk from the Metro made this a another reason for the great location. It was a 30 walk to the White House and a 10 Uber ride from nearby George Town which was very pretty and worth a visit for shopping and restaurants. The Rigby restaurant was very nice, not the most extensive menu but fabulous food and really friendly staff. . Bathroom door - felt a little wobbly. Not keen a sliding doors!

People: The staff were welcoming, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. They created a positive first impression and were attentive when providing directions, transportation information, and recommendations for exploring Washington, DC. Food: I enjoyed having easy access to a variety of restaurants and cafés in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. The area offered convenient dining options, allowing me to experience different foods while attending meetings and sightseeing throughout the week. Cleanliness: The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The guest rooms and common areas were consistently tidy, which made it easy to relax after busy days of meetings, museum visits, and policy-related activities. Overall: The combination of friendly staff, convenient food options, cleanliness, and an excellent location near the Metro, museums, and policy organizations made the Royal Sonesta Dupont Circle a great home base for my Washington, DC experience. What I Did Not Like: The biggest drawback of my stay was the fire alarm situation. The fire alarm went off twice during the same night, resulting in early-morning evacuations and interrupted sleep. Being awakened unexpectedly not once but twice was frustrating and disruptive, especially during a busy week of meetings and activities. While safety is important, the repeated alarms negatively impacted my overall experience and made it difficult to feel rested for the next day’s schedule. Overall Review: The Royal Sonesta Dupont Circle offered a clean environment, friendly staff, and a great location with many dining options nearby. However, the repeated overnight fire alarms significantly affected my stay and were the most disappointing aspect of an otherwise positive hotel experience.
