the fact that there was a pool We came for the weekend to cool down a bit as there was a heat wave. The room did not have an airco, the windows were locked so you could not even open them to ventilate. We could not ask for the key to open the window as the reception doesnt work in the evening. Overall it was a terrible experience as there was no air in bedroom and it was certainly way above 30°. We booked this hotel as it has a pool (pond/natural pool) which is nice but extremely slippery. So if you are coming with kids you have to hold them the entire time as they cannot stand or walk (adults neither). We paid significant amount of money and for that you expect that they at least come to your room, refill coffee or take out garbage but that was also not the case. You have to do it yourself otherwise they charge you. Overall, a very bad hotel choice for a lot of money. Definitely would not recommend in summer as you would not be able to breathe or sleep

The reception has very odd and limited opening Hours. It was hot that weekend but still the rooms don't have a ventilator fan (it's no so expensive to have a fan in each room). The bathroom is a bit dated. I was charged 25 EUR cause I did not clean the cutlery and dishes I used but I was not able to locate the cleaning products to do so.... the checkout time at 10:30 is way to early

Pool looked nice but didn't use it as was busy. We were told we would get a key to secure our bikes overnight but on checking in were directed to a space outside the locked garage. Others had keys We were given a list of recommendations for dinner but 90% were closed. We got back at 9 and couldn't get in , apparently we should have been given a code to unlock the doors . We paid an extra 15€ for an upgrade but it wasn't worth it. There was no hand soap in the bathroom

Spacious apartment, 7 min walk to the beach. Our room was dusty on arrival. The firealarm went off in the hotel at the 22:15 and lasted for 40 min. No staff at all was present at the hotel to handle the situation. Eventually the police arrived, concluded it was a false alarm and the alarm went off. The situation should have been handled much quicker. People with small babies who were half asleep had to evacuate and wait in the lobby for almost an hour (for no reason in the end).. The walls are extremely thin, you hear anything that happens in the hallways. If you buy a bottle of water at the reception (50cl) it will cost you 5€... Parking is not included, 6€ per night (considering the price of the rooms this could be offered). Overall not satisfied for the amount of money we paid for the room..

Clean property near the beach with secure bike lock up and swimming pool. Fit our family of 5 nicely and the dog loved it. They should just build the pet cost into the price as I think everyone we saw had a dog

The reception and breakfast area looks lovely - really set our expectations high! Was nice to be shown to our room too The apartment itself is so dated, bathroom was like a hospital. Madagascar sticker on the wall and random pictures, just so dated, flooring lifting, heavy bathroom door and cleaning mop and brush in sight but no washing up liquid and lack of cooking utensils and no milk for hot drinks

The toilet being seperate from the rest of the room. Water from the shower floating over the whole bathroom, not only the shower space.

The location, the ease to access to the place, the parking, the staff Could be cleaner

Hotel is lovely, staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice too. We stayed on the 2nd floor, with my two young boys. None of the windows have security catches to stop them opening fully. In the UK I think this is a legal requirement to avoid children falling out. As it is too high as a means of emergency exit, these windows need to be secured.

The room were warm, with nice balconies ideal for a family stay, there was also a little park nearby for kids to play. Its a bit distant from the train station. So the bus can take a while to reach. But if you got a car its easy to access.

West Bay provided us with a much needed leisurely stay following our 1800 km long journey across Europe with two young children. Checking in was smooth and Julie at reception has been very helpful. Our room was spacious, stylish and very comfortable! The beach is just a short walk away and we spent a lovely afternoon at a hut watching the sun set, followed by a lovely play at the hotel's own (and very-very clever!) playground. My husband had to work at night and he praised the strong wifi connection which was no fuss. I loved my morning coffee! The next day we continued our journey and Calais was a mere hour away. Altogether a beautiful hotel, lovely staff and very comfortable beds! Wish we stayed longer!
