Residence Inn by Marriott Wilkes-Barre Arena

Everything was clean and shiny, bed was comfortable, kitchenette was a very nice feature. I was not told about the $80 charge to my card for incidentals either on the booking site nor at the front desk when we checked in. I was not told at checkout either. I found out when I looked at my bank account...the receipt didnt even show the charge. I called and asked, and then I was told. Normally if this is a thing, we are told up front, and then it's a card on file in case, but it's never actually charged unless it's needed. I then had to scramble money to pay to get my dog out of boarding because this charge was taken out of my account and now I have to wait 3-5 days to get it back. VERY angry about this.

Cleanest in the area

A special mention goes to the person serving breakfast. He is incredibly kind, humble, and welcoming. Even when it gets busy, he makes sure no one has to wait too long and always serves everyone with a smile. I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve stayed here and would highly recommend this hotel!

The pull out couch wasn’t comfortable. The king bed mattress is also too soft. Everything else was very good.

The hotel as a whole was great. The only problem we had was the beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable.

The rooms were very clean and we were accommodated with ajoining rooms. Breakfast was wonderful, pool was great. We didn't have time to use the fire pit but the staff offered to turn it on. The location was perfect and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The wiring for the lights was a little weird. The light for the bathroom didn't work until you turned on the main lights. In one of our rooms the wrapped bar of soap was used as well as the lotion.
